There are authentic Japanese restaurants owned by actual Japanese people in India who are vegetarian. I always had homemade Japanese food made by a Japanese aunty who fed with love. This restaurant has food similar to that. But it also caters to the people who dont like homemade Japanese. I had to write this review because some North Indian and Punjabi non veg eater complained about this restaurant being vegetarian, why dont people check that this restaurant is vegetarian before they come here to complain. And shaming vegetarians has been a trend nowadays. Japanese food, Tibetan food, Thai food all have vegetarian dishes and influence of Buddhism. This place definitely beats lolo roso, tim tim and to some extend shaka when it comes to Japanese food. Having said that I was disappointed with the portion of Miso soup being tiny. the prices are a bit high (although all restaurant I mentioned have similar price and a lot of cities in India has got high prices for Japanese restaurants for some reasons). For people who cant use chopsticks please feel free to eat sushi with hands. Japanese food is not for Elites only! It is for everyone. Not a lot of people will like the authentic Japanese food. This restaurant has not Indianized their food which is a good thing. It has its own unique taste. Its healthy too. The lady here has always been wonderful always takes care of her customers. Staff was highly trained taking care of the details. But I expected them to serve water with those heavy glass bottles and not just leave the bottle on table. Matcha ice cream is really good(if youre sensitive to caffeine avoid it). Tempura in sushi was good too. Katsu curry bento and maki boat are much better here than what they serve at wagamama. 2 of my friends did not like the udon noodles. Hope this review helps people who wanna try this restaurant just because they are anime fans. This place wont disappoint you.

There are places that make you question this - What if this place served Non-Veg food as good as their Veg Food? Bento B is one such place whose Veg only menu irks me a little because their veg food is consistently excellent. The place gives a feeling of Japanese Diner and serves good Japanese fare too. I have been ordering their Bento boxes every now & then and can vouch for them. A planned visit to the place had me eat the following: Tamago Yaki - Rolled Japanese Omelette with a hint of sweetness. This fluffy, cloud-like Omelette rolled into perfection is for every egg lover out there who wants to try Omelette in a different avatar. Yes, this is not your spicy, North Indian-ish egg preparation but if you are a fan of trying eggs in a different way, go for it. Personally, I loved it. Vegetable Gyoza - If you are a fan of Japanese cuisine you wouldn't want to miss on having Gyoza, would you? These pan-fried dumplings were crisp at the edges and juicy with its filling. The spicy dipping sauce was irresistible. Next up was Avocado Cream Cheese Roll - These rolls with rice, avocado and cream cheese rolled inside a sheet of seaweed is crowd favourite. What I loved about this roll is how balanced it was. Neither cream cheese nor the rice took the precedence. Avocados got enough bite to shine through in a dish that can be tricky because of overpowering nature of cream cheese. Yaki Udon Noodles - I like thick, slurpy noodles and what better than having Udon, right? The selection was right based on my noodle preference but the taste of it left a lot for my imagination. It wasn't something to write home about. It tasted more like store bought ready to make noodle with no distinct flavour. Apart from this faux pas, Bento B did well on every other dish. Looking forward to visit Noboru, a restaurant by the same brand that serves non-veg food too.

I went to that place when it was 10-day old. Quaint, informal place - almost reminds one of an izakaya (sans the alcohol, of course). It is such a refreshing change to have a Japanese eatery - a much needed breather in the Ahmedabad culinary scene. The restaurant does a fair mix of starters, bento sets, sushi and desserts, and does it well. I had the spiced steamed edamame, pan fried gyōza, the all vegetable bento set (which included a Miso soup), mixed sushi platter (served in a cute boat-shaped wooden platter), tamago yaki (omelette sushi - their only "not strictly vegetarian" dish), asparagus tempura sushi roll, sesame ice cream (made in-house), orange cake with chocolate sauce. Each was excellent. The proportions were right, the tastes were subtle and flavorful, rich. Even the condiments smacked of authenticity.. The soya sauce they serve was not local style strong soya, but the distinctive soya sauce of Japanese eateries. The wasabi was spot-on (and they gave generous quantities if asked for). The pink ginger was spot on. And the flavored oils served in the small sauce pots were great too. The settings are quaint. The table settings are cute. And the food presentation is nice too. And currently, the poeple who run the place - Amit and some others it seemed - pay a lot of personal attention to the diners. A great place for a wholesome dinner full of flavor. Strongly recommended.

Japanese Dinner @ #Bento #B - Alembic City

After reading a post written by Admin Shweta thought to enjoy Sushi Sunday. It has opened on 9.9.22 which is an Authentic Japanese cuisin restaurant located inside Alembic city next to The Brewery cafe. Baroda's outlet is their second outlet after Ahmedabad.

Let's check out Barodian Japan 🍣🍱

#Ambiance 4.5/5 - when it is in Alembic city then undoubtedly outside Ambiance is amazing. interior was simply beautiful with Japanese theme and an open kitchen.

#Hospitality 4.8/5 - We were welcomed nicely by Manager and Steward. They helped us not only to understand menu but taught how to manage eating with chop stick. 😄 Service was moderately quick.

#Food 4/5 - After learning from their staff we ordered few items

#Miso #Soup 🥣 - it was of very liquid consistency having few pieces of tofu and seaweed. It was lil tangy un taste. I tasted such soup for the first time but my taste buds didn't like it much But its a very healthy soup for sure. From Hot&Sour to Miso may take time to develop the new taste.

#Sushi 🍣🍱 - This was the platter we were there for. For foodie like me who hardly come out of Pani poori addiction Japanese food means Sushi, that's it. 😄 8 pieces of Sushi were served with Soy sauce, Wasabi paste and pickled ginger as palate cleansing. Sushi rice were rolled up and wrapped with seaweed and stuffed with cheese and avocado pieces. It was cheesy and creamy taste. I loved it. My taste buds given go ahead for second piece. 🍣🍣

#Japanese #Fried #Rice 🥘 Prepared with sticky Japanese rice with good amount of veggies and decorated with vinegar soaked ginger. Taste was very much similar to Schezwan rice. My taste buds said its for time try i didn't like that stick textured rice.

#Goma #Ice #cream 🍨 For us this was the show stopper. Firstly we were hesitant to order any Japanese desert item but then after insisting by Manager we tried this ice cream. Trust me it remind me of #Uttrayan in month of Sep. It was basically made of black sesame seeds. It was mind blowing. Very tasty ice cream and never thought of such flavour. We can also call it #Kachariyu #Icecream 😁😆

#Presentation- Presentation with Cutlery was really good.

#Money 3.5/5 - I paid Rs 1413 for two. Qty was sufficient for two. I won't call it a vfm deal but some times its about the experience you pay for. I found it very occasionally visiting place when you really wanna explore something new or craving for Japanese food.

Overall Rating - 🍣🍨🥘🍜 4/5

#Disclaimer Always it is not about tasty food sometimes its about healthy and exploring new food, taste and joint. Taste is always a subjective matter. Authentic food preperation will only be assured after my visit to Japan so stay tuned 😆😄 Sometime you pay for learning new skills as well like I paid some portion of my billing to learn how to eat by...

Amazing food if you really appreciate the authenticity of any cuisine - here being Japanese !

Traditional Japanese Cuisine - Menu has been presented in all its Vegetarian Form and I having tasted both, can say that I was pleasantly surprised with the JUSTICE they did to their Vegetarian Take on Japanese Cuisine.

The only disappointing factor was presence of a heavily negative person named Nicholas (a nudgy uncle who in life hasn’t appreciated a single damn thing) 🙄😏

He made sure to give tough time to other diners like us by constantly asking irrelevant questions and undue favours to one server (unlucky day for the server) and inspite of the server being utmost respectful towards this Idiot Nicholas, he made sure to report a “fake disciplinary issue” to the Manager (Young Lady) to which WE JUST COULDN’T TOLERATE THE INJUSTICE which could happen with the innocent server.

The reason was pretty simple - he was politely denied any thing as an accompaniment to a Japanese Soup he had ordered. He expected him to be served with complimentary bread sticks or bread baskets which is a usual norm in other multi cuisine restaurants. The server tried his level best to make him understand that Japanese Soup doesn’t have any accompaniment like what he demanded.

This issue is highlighted in depth here because that Negative Nicholas works in the same premise in some other random office and any one of you can encounter him (if you are unlucky enough like us).

Keeping this issue aside, we had a HEARTY MEAL😋 after a pretty long time and it was nothing less than SOUL SATISFYING 😇.

Definitely going to be one of their repetitive customer 🤩

What We Ate -

Maki Boat (4 types of Assorted Sushi) 🍣

Gyoza Bento Meal 🍱

Japanese Katsu Curry 🍱

It breaks my heart to read in the little information card that they have - they are ready to serve Mayonnaise with Sushi 😳 (Mayonnaise is tolerable only in handful of dishes)

Please DO NOT RUIN the taste palatte by offering Mayonnaise - its high time people learn to put Mayonnaise at bay 🙏🏼

Thank you for...
