Review for Campanella Rooftop Café, Ahmedabad
We rarely go back to the same café twice in a week but Campanella left such a strong impression that we couldn’t resist! Two visits in three days, and each one was a delightful journey across flavours, fusions, and comfort food.
First Visit - A Fusion Feast
We kicked off with a Smokey Mango Margarita fiery, exotic, and the perfect way to set the tone. The Korean Army Stew brought just the right amount of spice and warmth, ideal for a monsoon evening.
For starters, each dish was a surprise: Dabeli Waffles, a playful twist marrying Kutch street-food nostalgia with Belgian comfort. Sourdough Bruschetta (Tomato Three Ways), fresh, crisp, and inventive. Cheese Corn Croquettes, gooey cheesiness with that jalapeño kick.
Mains didn’t disappoint either: Pesto Pasta, kids’ favourite, simple yet authentic. Spinach-Rice Cajun Curry, an adventurous Indo-Mexican blend, hearty and bold.
Desserts sealed the evening: Berry Compote Cheesecake, tangy, creamy, and indulgent. Not a Baileys Cake, a perfectly moist chocolate cake layered with luscious ganache; elegant without being overpowering.
Second Visit - Italian Indulgence
Three days later, our Italian cravings took us right back. We sampled four distinct pastas: Pesto Spaghetti, fresh and aromatic. Caramelised Onion Penne, sweet, savoury, and rich. Roasted Pepper Al Dente Orecchiette, smoky and balanced. Truffle Mushroom Penne, earthy, creamy, and indulgent.
The variety was impressive, with authenticity in flavour and presentation. Interestingly, we noticed Chana Masala with Paratha also on the table, showing Campanella’s ability to balance Indian comfort food alongside global plates.
To end, the desserts and drinks were exceptional: Biscoff Milkshake, sweet, balanced, and utterly comforting. Tiramisu, light yet rich, with the perfect coffee hit. Callebaut Hot Chocolate, a decadent hug in a cup.
Overall Experience
Both visits were marked by: Fusion for every palette, from Kutch-inspired waffles to authentic Italian pastas. Beautiful balance, global authenticity with local creativity. Excellent service, attentive without being intrusive. Rooftop charm, the setting makes everything taste better.
Campanella isn’t just a café, it’s an experience. Whether you’re in the mood for fusion experiments, classic Italian comfort, or indulgent desserts, this is the place. Highly recommended if you want food that excites, surprises, and leaves you planning your next visit before you’ve...
Read moreIf you’re looking for a little break from the chaos of Sindhu Bhavan Road, Italian Café Campanella at Sanidhya is a refreshing find. Tucked away in a quieter part of Ahmedabad, it sits on the top floor with the option of both rooftop and indoor seating. The vibe itself feels a bit more relaxed compared to the usual crowded café spots in the city.
What stood out for me right from the start was the attentiveness of the owner. He doesn’t just take orders—he actually listens, understands your preferences, and suggests dishes accordingly. That personal touch really added to the experience.
We began with drinks: the Campanella Iris Bailey and the Spicy Mango mocktail. The Iris Bailey, honestly, surprised me—it was coffee-based but with a sweet, almost dessert-like undertone. I’ve never had anything quite like it before, and it turned out to be a refreshing start.
For appetizers, we went with the Venice Platter, which came with butter garlic fries, tomato bruschetta, arancini, and pepper bruschetta. The butter garlic fries were addictive—simple yet packed with flavor—and the tomato bruschetta was a winner for me, with the crunch of the bread balanced beautifully by the freshness of the tomato. A small note, though: the platter leans towards the milder side, so if you’re someone who prefers bold and spicy flavors, the Mexican platter might be a better fit.
Next came the star of the evening: the gnocchi. It’s not easy to get gnocchi right, but this was melt-in-your-mouth perfection. Soft, delicate, and paired with a classic pomodoro sauce that was rich yet simple—it was spot on. You could tell the chef knew exactly what they were doing.
We also tried the Abodo pizza, topped with feta, beans, jalapeños, and peppers. It had a really nice balance of textures and flavors, light yet satisfying without being heavy or greasy.
To finish off, I went with the banana cake served with caramel syrup and cinnamon ice cream. It was indulgent but not overwhelmingly sweet—the cinnamon ice cream added such a lovely warm note to the dessert.
Overall, Café Campanella feels like a thoughtfully run place—good food, great service, and a setting that makes you want to slow down a little. Perfect for when you want to enjoy Italian flavors in a calm, less chaotic...

We recently checked out the newly opened Campanella Café, and while the ambience was spot-on, the food didn’t quite match up.
What We Loved
The atmosphere was warm and inviting, making it a great place to unwind. The seating was super comfortable, and they had a live IPL screening, which was a nice touch. Since it’s a partially open-air café, they’ve installed air coolers to keep things pleasant, along with an indoor air-conditioned section for those who prefer it. The aesthetic was minimal yet elegant, which we really appreciated.
What We Tried & Our Thoughts
• Khow Suey Soup – The soup was decent, but they missed serving the condiments separately, which is an essential part of a good Khow Suey experience. Everything was mixed into the bowl, which took away the fun of customizing the flavors.
• Sicilian Pesto & Roasted Pepper Toast – This was a huge disappointment. The roasted peppers and tomatoes on top were ice-cold, straight out of the fridge, which completely ruined the dish. When you order toast, you expect it to be warm! The café should either mention this on the menu or inform customers beforehand. We couldn’t even finish it. That said, the staff was kind enough to offer us Falachos as a complimentary replacement, which we appreciated.
• Waffle Vada Pav – The waffle had a great crunchy texture, but the mild sweetness threw us off. Vada Pav is meant to be spicy, so this sweet twist didn’t work for us. Maybe others might like it, but we personally wouldn’t order it again.
• Falachos – A creative mix of falafel and nachos, where falafel mixture was spread on tortilla/lavash, roasted, and topped with nachos toppings. It was okay, but not memorable.
Overall Experience
The ambience and service were fantastic, and we’d definitely return for the calm, aesthetic vibe. However, the food needs serious improvement, especially in terms of execution and flavor balance. If they tweak the menu and work on these issues, this place could become a go-to café...
