My Experience at Dakshin Bhojanam – Worst Ever!
I recently visited Dakshin Bhojanam, which is advertised as serving authentic South Indian cuisine. Unfortunately, my experience was one of the worst I’ve ever had at any restaurant.
Terrible First Impression
Had to wait 45 minutes just to get in, even though people behind me were being seated earlier.
The staff was rude and unwelcoming right from the start.
Extremely Poor Service
Waiter kept ignoring my table, even after calling him multiple times to place the order.
Orders were taken reluctantly and with a dismissive attitude.
Food items arrived incomplete — some plates were missing sambar and there were no spoons provided.
Had to remind them 3–4 times for basic things like sambar or additional orders.
Unhygienic & Unsafe Food
One of my friends found a long hair in her dish. Staff simply replaced it without apology or concern.
Water bottles on the table were not clean.
The idlis and dosas tasted sour, indicating that the batter was spoiled.
Unacceptable Delays
Every single order took an unreasonably long time to arrive.
Even after finishing the first round of food, placing a new order meant another long wait.
Health Concerns
After eating here, I’ve been feeling unwell, with nausea and vomiting since last night.
I genuinely question the hygiene standards of their kitchen.
Not Worth the Money
I spent ₹6,000–₹7,000 here and feel like I’ve completely wasted my money, time, and energy.
Outside this restaurant, at half or even one-third the price, you can get much better quality and taste.
Final Verdict
🚫 Do NOT waste your time or money here. The food is unhygienic, the service is rude and careless, and the quality is far below even basic standards. I would never recommend Dakshin...
Read moreUpon entering dakshin bhojanam Restaurant, the ambiance exudes a warm and inviting South Indian charm. The aroma of spices fills the air, promising an authentic culinary journey. The menu offers a variety of dosa options, ranging from classic masala dosa to more adventurous choices like cheese and spring dosa. However, the service was a bit slow, and the staff seemed overwhelmed during peak hours. Now, onto the main event – the dosas themselves. Each one is a work of art, perfectly crispy on the outside and delightfully flavorful on the inside. The accompanying chutneys and sambar elevate the experience to new heights, adding layers of depth to every bite.
While the dosas steal the show, the restaurant also offers a selection of other South Indian delicacies, from idlis to vadas, ensuring there's something for everyone. In terms of ambiance, Dakshin bhojanam strikes the perfect balance between casual and refined. Whether you're enjoying a meal with friends or treating yourself to a solo dining experience, you'll feel equally at ease.
On occasion and week days, the restaurant can get quite busy, resulting in longer wait times. The two girls at the front desk at the restaurant managed the waiting process exceptionally well. Her professionalism and efficiency made our dining experience even more enjoyable.Additionally, some dishes may be slightly on the pricier side, but the quality more than justifies the cost. Overall, Restaurant is a must-visit for anyone seeking an authentic taste of South India. With its delectable dosas, friendly service, and inviting ambiance, it's sure to leave a...
Read moreJust stopped by Dakshin Bhojnam and had one of those meals that stick with you. We ordered the Mysore Masala Dosa—that perfect combo of crispy dosa packed with spicy, vibrant chutney that’s just fire. The flavors felt right, reminded me of how a proper dosa should taste. Plus the Benne Dosa—loaded with butter and rich Karnataka vibes—was pure comfort food. You could taste the butter melting into that rustic batter, and yep, it lived up to the hype .
We also tried the Medu Vada; it came out golden, crunchy on the outside, and soft inside. A classic done right. And for a twist, we wrapped up with a semifreddo dessert—smooth, silky, and a cool finish to all that dosa action. Trust me, that cold creamy bite after spicy feels like a small party in your mouth.
Good to know: Dakshin Bhojnam’s overall rating is quite solid—4.7 on Google (over 1,000 reviews) and even 5.0 on TripAdvisor with reviewers calling it a haven for dosa lovers . People rave about their authentic South Indian charm, crispy dosas, amazing chutneys & sambar . Though fair warning—if you go after evening hours, be prepared for a bit of a wait (15–45 min) at peak times .
All in all, if you’re craving South Indian done right—especially those dosas with character—Dakshin Bhojnam is a solid win. Great food, decent ambiance, and a vibe that feels genuine. Just go a bit earlier to skip the...
