Deewan-E-Khaas — Restaurant in Gujarat

I have been a loyal customer of Sandeep Dawer Ji’s restaurants for many years, especially those under the Sugar N Spice group on Ring Road. Since childhood, I have frequently visited their establishments with my family, and we have always cherished the experience. The Dawer Chamber restaurants used to be our favorite spots, and we were regular visitors until the building shut down for renovation.

A few days ago, while passing by, I noticed the new Deewane E Khaas board, and it brought back fond memories. I was excited to visit with my entire family, hoping for the same delightful experience as before.

However, our visit on New Year’s Eve turned out to be a massive disappointment. Here’s what went wrong: Unprofessional Staff: The staff was uncooperative and poorly trained. Buffet Mismanagement: Every time we went to serve ourselves at the buffet, many dishes were empty and not replenished. No Paneer in Paneer Curries: Paneer-based dishes were missing the main ingredient—paneer! Dessert Section Disaster: When I went for dessert, the gulab jamuns were finished. I requested the captain and manager to arrange some, but their response shocked me.

The manager rudely replied, “Sir, we don’t have any stock left, so where can I get it for you?” He further explained that the buffet service was not a regular feature at the restaurant and was arranged only due to high demand on that particular day. It felt like they were doing us a favor by offering the buffet, which was unacceptable for a restaurant of this stature.

This unprofessional behavior ruined what was supposed to be a joyous New Year celebration for my entire family.

Final Thoughts: If you cannot maintain the quality and service associated with such a reputed name, why tarnish its legacy? My experience at Deewane E Khaas was far below expectations, and I would not recommend it to anyone based on the current...

We visited this place on Saturday Night. Place was crowded. But it seemed staff is not that capable of serving so many people. Service was very bad. We were not provided glasses for water even when we asked for it 3 times. No one seemed to bother pur complaint. Food service was very slow. We ordered Butter Roti and Paneer Sabji but were served Plain Roti and Sabji arrived our table after 10 mins of serving Roti. Newly opened and premium range from Sugar N Spice. Indeed, worth exploring. They have targeted specific population who might be interested for kind of a menu in Surat and they were top notch ln that aspect. Vibes are enthralling, food was delicious.
