The NAME : Goan chicken steak Served with cabbge foogath and coconut rice.

The DISH :

The dish was straight up something i would have had ordered had i been in GOA, but i was here and not there.

after waiting patiently for the dish to arrive , the moment i looked at it i knew i was gonna be very happy and so was my stomach and taste buds. I individually tasted all items first and then delved into the mix of what was served.

The rice : curry leaves + fresh coconut a few spices and there it was , the amazing feeling of being so close to the sea. The rice was neatly done with the center being the delicate coconut flavour. (kudos to the chef)

The cabbage foogath : so juicy , so tasty , so well balanced.

The xacuti sauce : to die for (i am sure anyone who has had this anywhere, is gonna be taken back to those fond places siting right there at cafe fitoor) The Chicken Steak : Rightly done (juicy till the last bite).

The DISH was a completely balanced composition of all the flavour one thinks of when in goa, and if you take a break and just feel one with the meal , then it throws you right in some known corner of goa , where you have had good food. The only missing sense here, was the sound (without the sound of waves), but i know and am sure, a foodie is happy if his other senses- of taste, smell and looks are taken care ...... is one happy person. Also can assure you of ne thing: "That this dish takes you to goa for sure."

After looking at a lot of options we finalized "Cafe Fitoor" after looking at all those good reviews and the menu on Zomato!

It was raining quite steadily enroute and it was fun riding my Bullet! We reached and were greeted very warmly by the staff which was quite a good start!

We ordered a Mojito, Chicken Wings in Carl's Thumbs Up sauce, a Mighty Fitoor Burger and Chipotle, Chicken & Broccoli Wrap.

We loved each one of them immensely. My favourite were the chicken wings - tangy, very spicy and well cooked; I loved the infusion of finely chopped green chillies. My wife loved the mellow and subtle flavours of the wrap. The burger was as heavy as it gets! The fillings were humongous - Chicken Salami, Chicken Patty, Fried Egg, Chicken Sausage, Cheese slice and caramelised onions! Phew...

My son also got the complimentary crackers and marshmallows which when gobbled up in no time. Plus his only focus during the main course were the 2 bowls of Grapes!

I ended the meal with a strong shot of Macchiato which was exactly the way I love my Black Coffee - robust and bursting with flavours.

All in all, it was a great meal on a special day with superb weather, delicious food, gracious service and a beautiful ambiance.
