Hotel Express Towers — Hotel in Gujarat

I only gave it okay because the service and most staff were excellent. I would give 0 stars otherwise. I stayed for 10 days as I was in the area for my wedding. We followed all procedures and rules regarding providing proof of ID and updating staff with changes. On my wedding night, the front desk called my room after midnight. Very upsetting. They charged me for express laundry services but did not provide express service. The room key has to be rekeyed every time you leave the room. Unnecessary.

I found hair in my food when ordering room service. Have picture of it. The hotel offered me icecream to compensate and proceeded to still charge me for the food afterwards.

After a week of trying to complain to different managers with no success we finally spoke to the head manager who apologized profusely and reassured me they would take the charges off...they did not. He said "We cannot give discount because this goes against our system. This is India."

He may have saved a few Rupees today but I have both family and business in this area and will never be back to this hotel on future trips and he had lost much profit in the future. He lies to my face and says we must build on trust but can't remove a simple bill after promising to do so. I payed full price for this experience for wedding and I have nothing but shame and remorse for letting him treat me this way.

I will also make sure nobody I travel with or in my family that comes to visit in the area stays at this hotel. My feelings for this trip are that terrible after my experience...

Its a dump. SMELLS everywhere. Not worth your money. No water in the sink. Toilet bowl in reception area is so dirty. When I went to clean my hand, I applied soap than wanted to rinse of my hand, water would not come out. I told the receptionist , she said there is a sensor so the water is not coming. Huhhh!!! Is that all you want to say, not do anything about it. Sofas are so dirty, if you see arm rest it is all darkened, dirty chairs are all over. It is in the reception area and in the restaurant. This hotel is not for NRI. They give you towels that has been used thousands of time, towels look yellowish, they gave me almost white looking towels after I complained, shower curtain was black from bottom because it was dirty, they changed it after I complained. Room had realy fealthy smell, they came and spray something aromatic after i complained. Americas two stars hotel is better than this. I wouldn't give even one star. Our room is on the road side, constant nouse of car. There is small terrace attached to the room. It is full of bird poop. Do they expect you to sit on terrace for drink. Lol. I say pay little more and stay at Hilton, Marriott, Sheraton or any American hotel. Last but not least. We ate at Mundap restaurant, I got food poisoning, was sick for two days. We came here to see Statue of Liberty, I could not enjoy seeing that. Most of the time I was sitting. One good thing about the hotel is that their cleaning staff...

The location is very central to this old iconic hotel. Foreign cricket teams of 1980s - 90s used to stay here and you can find bats signed by Aus NZ Eng players in the breakfast area. The positives end there. Westside and Jassi De Paratha and Sasuma thali all in walking distance. Sweet shops too.

The negatives Room is too small for the price. My Bathroom had semi transparent glass so it’s uncomfortable if two people are staying Flush button needs muscle to push n flush. Bathroom very small. TV STB and remotes are outdated Room is basic Not much clothes hanging option in bathroom (mainly as there is no wooden door but glass door) Breakfast is strictly so so.. I liked the masala dosa and flavoured lassi and fresh watermelon juices. Other dishes very average. They do keep eggs and sausages which is imp as you will struggle to find good and reasonably priced non veg food in Baroda. Staff are very lax..took 20mins to give me rooms. I had asked for twin bed rooms but they gave master bed ones at 2pm saying twin beds aren’t ready. When I needed a 3 page printout they said Rs20 per page whereas I thought it could be complimentary as many other hotels give. Next time I will prefer staying a bit farther away but better hotel room and facilities...
