Gopaal Loccho — Restaurant in Gujarat

Enjoyed Famous locho of Surat at one of the famous joint Gopal locho. These guys have grown from selling this dish on cart to well furnished self service outlets in the prominent atea near Surat station. The sucess factor for this growth is surely the famous dish combined with their service attitude with smiling place.. They have amplified the basic locho beyond and above Surat boundary .. they have different flavoured locho from basic. Oil , butter, Mexican, cheese , garlic etc... What's more intersting they have made locha burger. Loch Sandwich 🥪😋

Other dish I tried is idada.. it's some close cousin of Gujarati white dhokla... Little less puffy , having more rice n less dal in batter than dhokla and idli...thinner than dhokla.

Both these dishes were served with green but sweet chutney garnished with thin Sev and accompanied by onions and chillies...

Next time I'll try my hand on continental locho...i.e. Mexican or Cheese...or may be burger or sandwich

A must have dish to your bucket list for Gujarat visit especially if it is Surat...

This place also serve famous Gujarati khandavi, then some varieties of Samosa like dal samosa, panneer Samosa and few more...

It's self service counter, they also offer take away, and some ready to cook packed batter of locho...

There is intersting story how this dish got invented accidentally

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Gopal Locho, and I must say, it was an unforgettable experience! The ambiance was warm and inviting, but the real magic happened on the plate.

The standout dish, hands down, was the Chicken Biryani - it was OUT. OF. THIS. WORLD! The flavors were expertly balanced, the rice was cooked to perfection, and the chicken was tender and juicy. Each bite was a symphony of spices and textures.

But that wasn't all - we also tried:

The flavorful and crispy Vegetable Samosas, which disappeared in seconds! The rich and creamy Butter Chicken, with tender chunks of chicken. The delightful Palak Paneer, with its silky spinach sauce.

The service was top-notch! Our server was attentive, knowledgeable, and made excellent recommendations.

Gopal Locho has earned a loyal customer in me. If you haven't tried it yet, DO NOT MISS OUT!

The name "Gopal Loccho" itself indicates that it is famous for a typical Surti dish "Locho". It is located in old Surat city area " Manchharpara- Haripara" near railway station. If you don't know , what is Locho? Don't ask for explanation, but go and experience the test of it in Surat. "Gopal Locho" has risen from single item Locho to today's status. Today they have multiple branches in the city and they are serving many more popular items for quick biting apart from Locho. Consistency in test and quality pull people here for many years. If you are visiting Surat and you don’t eat locho it’s like going temple and come without darsan . Well it’s only nearest place to railway station and bus station to try and very mouth watering Surti dishes . I tried oil locho and veg cheese hotdog . Both are very delicious and tasty. You can feel the real taste of Surati dishes. If you visit Surat i recommend to you please try it is totally pesa vasul. The price of locho is starting from 30₹ and hotdog from 70₹ and much more food are available like khamni, verity of locho, sandwiches, hotdogs etc. I've visited many times before but given one star less because they need to improve ambience and cleanline.
