Hotel Purohit — Restaurant in Gujarat

While on holiday at saputara we visited this restaurant for lunch after reading the rave reviews. We wanted an authentic Gujarati thali and were in for a treat. After the hunt in the scorching heat we were welcomed into a clean restaurant which had a board saying 'Thali only'. The food on offer were 4 vegetables(Sabzi), which change every day. The day we went it was Palak paneer, Tindli, Aloo Tamatar and Muug. There were the thikki and meeti dals and Gujarati kadi to accompany the rice and roti. There were several accompaniments like salads pappad pickles chutneys etc. To wash down this unlimited feast were unlimited glasses of cold Chaas. To end the meal there were two desserts. We got sooji halwa and fruit custard. The service was impeccable with the waiters ready to serve you the next helping before you can finish what is on your plate. All this lovely fare for 250 rupees. Without even asking for it they billed my eight year old daughter only 150 for a Kid Thali!!! It can be a little difficult to find the place as Google might lead you to Purohit canteen in the bus stand which is a rundown place. This is further ahead on the same road. We spoke to the old man who owns this place and told him that he should put up a sign board indicating where the restaurant is on...

It's a good budget hotel for stay and you get greatest gujarati thali of Saputara here.

For food I would rate rhisnplace 5/5 but for rooms if I rate compare to charges, 4/5 but overall if I rate against my experience and expectations than 3/5.

Rooms well cleaned but smell of moisture would be there. No TV in working condition. Basic like guest house. You don't get towels or soaps etc here which has to be there ita basic. However we had room on fround floor which was prone to little creatures and the place being near dense greenery, is prone to that.

Must try for vegetarians for food but try other...

The person at cash counter is worst. Staff is third class and manager is totally arrogant. Waste of money. Waste of time. Humble request never visit and don't support such services. I belong to a good family with virtues and such unhuman behaviour is not acceptable at such restaurant. Atleast be respectful towards your customers, they deserve adequate hospitality. Restaurant is also defaming saputara and its heritage. No words left for such worst service.

Absolutely third class restaurant and truly deserves to be shut as early...
