This place was my temple during my stay at Ahmedabad for studies.
I got to know about this place form one of my best buddies Adityasinh Chudasama in 2013, and I will be thankful to him for rest of my life.
From Nov 2013 to June 2015 I regularly had meals at Maruti Dining Hall on daily basis. Excellent, nutritious food, Home-like taste at pocket friendly rates. Chappati, 4 curries, 2 dals, salads, rice, 2 types of kadhis, rice, khichidi, papad, and butter milk forms the part of main menu. Kadhis and khichidi are served only for dinner. In summers thrice or 4 times a week unlimited watermelon is served and in winters Bajare ki roti. All items are served unlimited except papad and butter milk which are charged at a nominal rate of Rs.5/- per serving.
In 2013 the rate per unlimited thali was Rs.80/- then it was inflated to Rs.90/- and then to Rs.100/- by July 2015. Many of my colleagues use to join me for lunch, many discontinued because they thought it was expensive on daily basis. But the fact is one cannot get a better place to have meals in Ahmedabad on daily basis for the value of money it offers.
Best for outstation students and working professionals.
The owner of the restaurant is a very kind and genuine person, you won't have to worry about the quality of food. Any complaints? put it straight to the owner he will rectify the problem till your next visit.
I used to travel 4 kms to have my meals here every day, just to experience that after-meal satisfaction.
A perfect place for marvaris and north-indians also as the needs and tastes of several ethnic groups have been considered in designing the menu of the thali.
Don't miss the Gatte-ki-sabji for dinner every Thursday.
Lots of praises and wishes for the owner and the complete staff of Maruti Dining Hall for running this excellent facility.
Cheers to Jaykrishnan Pillai and Darshan for joining me for lunch here...

The thali is unlimited, allowing you to indulge in a plethora of flavors and dishes, each cooked to perfection. The quality of the ingredients is apparent, and each dish has that homemade feel which is so rare to find. Every bite takes you on a journey through the rich culinary heritage of Gujarat, from the sweet undertones of the Shrikhand to the spicy kick of the Sev Tamatar.
Price-wise, this place is a steal. The cost is incredibly reasonable considering the unlimited servings and the array of dishes available. It's not just the food that stands out, though. The cleanliness of the restaurant is impeccable, making the dining experience all the more enjoyable.
But what truly sets Maruti Gujarati Thali apart is the hospitality. The owner is genuinely humble and takes personal care to ensure you have an excellent dining experience. A visit here is not just a meal but an experience in rich culinary tradition and exceptional service.
