Purohit Thali — Restaurant in Gujarat

Our work calls for traveling a lot and we love to try different local foods too but at some point we start missing our homemade food and then we start to hunt for such places which serves home style cooked food in homely atmosphere. .

Purohit Thali is one such place, which serves unlimited freshly cooked home style food, without any fancy frill in homely atmosphere and served quickly in old fashioned way by waiters in a courteous manner. Prices are also very reasonable. .

Their food is made using less oil, less spices and light on stomach. The roti's ( Indian flatbread) are too soft and served directly from the oven through the waiters, making feel at home. .

Their Thali consists of 1-2 types of flatbreads, plain rice and khichadi, 2 types of dals tikhi & khatti mithi, 4 types of side dishes prepared using with different veggies, one sweet and one farshan (dry deep fried snacks item) along with glass of Chaas (buttermilk) and the box of assorted chutneys (dips) and salads. .

Warning: Not recommended ! Avoid this place! Food quality is poor and lacks taste. They don't serve what they promise on the menu. The staff's behavior is also unprofessional and rude. We were served something other than what was listed on the menu - specifically, 'Aamras' was replaced with a different product ( like Mazaa or any other local product, etc..). When we politely brought this to the attention of the staff, they became argumentative. Additionally, the 'Paneer Punjabi' dish was served without paneer, and when asked about it, the staff seemed unapologetic and mentioned that paneer is not guaranteed. . Typical, but orthodox Gujarati Thali - that is what they claimed - as I'm from South India, I'm not very sure of authenticity.

. We had Unlimited Gujarati Thali in another place which had more dishes and definitely more tasty - the service attention also was more impressive there.
