#RasnaRestaurant Review
Food for me, personally, is an engagement with flavours, textures, and scents. When it comes to food nostalgia, RASNA canโt be ignored. Enjoyed today's lunch @Rasna restaurant, maninagar with friends. A punjabi cuisine restaurant since 30 plus years in ahmedabad town flaunting food traditions and leave indelible marks on our sub-conscious, which for many years may lay dormant โ but will eventually resurface. My favourite food memories involves Nargisi kofta with hariyali Naan, Hara bhara Kabab, chole puris, paneer butter masala and veg biriyani.
This time we enjoyed: To begin any lunch or dinner, i love to begin with the basic delicacy on my table i.e. Masala papad. In starter we had Harabhara kabab. In main course we had haldi adrak ki sabzi: A wintery sabzi made with fresh raw turmeric cooked in ghee for long hours,. This sabzi is signature dish of their winter menu, Nargisi kofta with Hariyali Nan, Papad churi as side dish and ended our meal with Gajjar ka halwa.
Since childhood I have visited this place several times. My dad is born and brought up in maninagar area of Ahmedabad. By the year 1986 we shifted to Vadodara. I have lot many memories with Rasana 1; when ever I visit our grandparents home in ahmedabad during diwali and summer vacation's we use to come for punjabi food at Rasana.
Rasana begins it's journey in the year 1988. It was nice talking with #Rajmohan ji who narrated briefly having lot many tales about journey of Rasana 1&2 and how they become pioneers. Talking more with him he narrated: โช๏ธThey were thr first who started food festivals in ahmedabad, โช๏ธThey were first who curated South Indian breakfast in maninagar, โช๏ธThey were first who love doing gathering's of author's and writers and arrange live musical in restaurant, โช๏ธAlso they were first who bought a concept of Santa Clause who stands outside a restaurant during christmas festival.
We had lot many talks and shared all my childhood memories with Rasana 1 as well as we enjoyed our lunch with #TanmaySheth and his wife along with #rajmohan ji's daughter.
I find Rasana a good place for dining out with family/friends. Today i revisited it after 2 long years with lots of expectations and I am happy to say Rasana still lives up to the same taste and standard of food quality. The aura of this restaurant is very soothing.

Bringing back nostalgic flavours from the Eastern part of Ahmedabad, Rasana is the place to be for all the vegetarian punjabi food connoisseurs. This restaurant carries pretty consistent reputation in maninagar area of Ahmedabad since years (Almost 32 years). An unsurpassed take on classic North Indian cuisine โ Rasna is one of Ahmedabad's favourite culinary destinations. The kitchen is helmed by their talented Chefs.
The menu consists of various classic, mouth-watering dishes, giving the patrons the true taste of North India. The menu influences dishes from Saurashtra, South Indian, North indian as well as Rajasthani, giving you traditional recipes on your plate. Owner of the restaurant, Mr. Rajmohan modi ji specially takes good care of all customers. Also dishes of menu are inspired by seasonโs freshest produce, giving the guests unparalleled dining experience. They have another branch in same area having huge dinning space with all parking facilities. Next visit of Rasna 2 is in pending list.

Rasna Restaurant, this restaurant has been entertaining Ahmedabadites for the past 35 years by serving its Punjabi, South Indian, Italian, Mexican, etc. menu dishes in East Ahmedabad.
This is a restaurant that has been popular for its Punjabi menu for years. And yes intact flavor is also retained.
A well-known name in the food industry is Rajmohan Bhai Modi. Has been settled in Ahmedabad since years. Rajmohan Bhai's hospitality, associated with literature and taste, is as sweet as his hospitality.
All the guests who come to Rasnaโs restaurant leave with not only the taste but also the sweet welcome.
I had a sweet potato dry bhaji, moraio, crispy yam chips, sweet curd, potato halwa with Rajgaro puri.
I especially loved the combination of sweet curd with yam wafers. Such a wafer is not found anywhere in Ahmedabad. Definitely try it when you visit.
This shira is made by grating potatoes, roasting them in hot pot ghee, adding spices like cinnamon, nutmeg, cardamom, nutmeg etc., adding...
ย ย ย Read moreI have been a regular customer of Rasna for years, so I know very well how the food here is supposed to taste. But todayโs experience has been nothing short of disgraceful. Since I couldnโt go for dining, I placed an order instead โ and what I got was a complete insult. The dish was horribly prepared, overloaded with spice, cooked without the slightest care, and absolutely inedible. It honestly felt like the kitchen just threw random ingredients into a pan and sent it off.
Whatโs even more shocking is that a place run under the names of Deepak Modi and Ramodi can let such careless, pathetic food leave their kitchen. It shows a total lack of responsibility and respect for customers. As owners, if they canโt even maintain basic quality, then they have failed miserably in running this restaurant.
Rasna, under Deepak Modi and Ramodi, has officially lost a loyal, regular customer today. I will never waste my time or money here again, and I strongly advise others to think twice before...
