Roopa Restaurant — Restaurant in Gujarat

We stayed for a night in surat and had our dinner come heavy snack at 5pm at this restaurants as suggested by our reception guy at tye hotel we stayed.

We ordered for

Chole bhature - ( two puri and chole ) The puri was fully soaked in oil in not a very obvious kind of way .

Chole was out of the world , we never expected such a tasty food from such a restaurant

So we ordered for only chole bhaji more , this one tasted different and also chole was spoilt.We did not bother to mention or complain

We travel for a night and do not wish to fall ill by eating spoilt food.

Service - 3 / 10 ( i think he did not understand the basic instructions or what we wanted and kept saying no to everything , so much so i had to take extra efforts to make him understand what we wanted and then he understood)

We asked for bill and bearer did miss to add the bisleri water we took and he included that and gave us back the change.

I gave the waiter a 10rs tip

I did not count on it and came out to discover i was given a 10rs less .

This is disheartening. Not appreciated.

PS - you get everything at the mrp Its a cost affective place if you lucky you get fresh...

This place is in front of the Surat railway station is at little right side the auto rickshaw stand which is attached to the Surat railway station it is exactly in front of that opposite on the road The menu is very large they have many varieties of food as you can see in the menu all of vegetarian thalisa available and fast food as well South Indian North Indian Punjabi I tried their mysore masala dosa and schezwan paneer dosa in which there was no paneer just they have created the paneer and given the mysore masala dosa was so sweet I did not like the taste The service is very good here But you cannot sit there because as soon as your order is finished they keep on running on The bill the payment please get up the customer has arrived All to the services very good the uncle who serves the food and take the order is very kind a very generous I like his behaviour very much But for food purpose I won't be...

Roopa is very famous & old restaurant located band opposite Surat Railway Station. It's been around for almost 40 years.

I came here on the recommendation of a friend who is their loyal customer, for a quick note before catching a train back home.

We ordered Medu Wada which was crispy & more importantly non-oily. Idli were soft, fluffy & decent in size. Rawa Masala Dosa looked & tasted nice. I also tried the Mysore Masala Dosa which was slightly oily & served with the bhaji on the side instead of being stuffed inside the Dosa. The Bhaji was slightly tangy & oily too.

The chutney served was yummy & they serve Sambhar without onion & garlic, maybe thats what the locals must be demanding from them.

All in all, it was a decent meal but nothing worth mentioning except...
