A Disappointing Decline: Shivas Dosa is No Longer What It Was
I've been a patron of Shivas Dosa (formerly before Amul Parlour, 4, Freniben Desai Marg, Bhagwan Nagar No Tekro, Paldi, Ahmedabad) for years, and it's with a heavy heart that I write this review. Having visited regularly for over two years, the recent experience was a stark and frankly disheartening contrast to the quality I once knew and loved. It seems everything has degraded significantly.
Environment Quality: A Far Cry from Its Past
Two years ago, Shivas Dosa had a bustling yet clean and welcoming ambiance. Now, it feels neglected. The tables appear worn, the seating areas are less tidy, and there's a general lack of upkeep that was previously absent. The charm that once made it a pleasant spot for a quick bite has completely evaporated.
Hygiene: A Serious Concern
This is perhaps the most alarming aspect of the decline. The cleanliness standards have visibly dropped. From what I observed, the tables weren't wiped down thoroughly, and the overall impression of the premises was far from hygienic. This is a fundamental expectation for any food establishment, and Shivas Dosa is unfortunately falling short.
Staff & Hospitality: A noticeable Downturn
The staff, who were once efficient, friendly, and accommodating, now seem disengaged and indifferent. There's a palpable lack of the warm hospitality that made interactions so pleasant in the past. Orders were taken without much enthusiasm, and there was no sense of the previous attentiveness. It felt as though customer service was an afterthought rather than a priority.
Overall Impression:
What was once a go-to spot for delicious dosas and a reliable experience has become a shadow of its former self. The drop in standards across environment, hygiene, staff professionalism, and hospitality is truly disappointing. I genuinely hope that Shivas Dosa takes these criticisms to heart and makes significant improvements to reclaim its lost glory. Until then, I cannot recommend it based on my...

Read moreWe had a very disappointing experience at Shiva dosa Makarba branch opposite Al burooj. We were dining with our 10-month-old baby, who can only eat certain foods due to their age and dietary needs. We requested to bring in a small portion of French fries from outside for the baby, but the staff refused in an unreasonably strict manner.
What was even more upsetting was the rude and unprofessional behavior of the staff. Instead of addressing the situation with understanding or kindness, they were dismissive and misbehaved, which left us feeling extremely unwelcome.
As a family-friendly establishment, we expected better customer service and flexibility when it comes to the needs of small children. This experience has left us hesitant to return or recommend the...
