Verandah Where do I start? ๐ Firstly, this is the most over hyped Rooftop amongst all the others in Ahmedabad. The place opens only in the evening hence it is a dinner place with dim lights where your food will not be clearly visible due to lack of lighting. It is full during the weekends there is a rush and the staff is unable to handle the crowd. It was Halloween night so we asked for the Menu and they told us that there was only the Special Menu instead of handing over the Regular Menu after looking around we say many people having the other Menu hence I asked again and they then decided to hand it over (very convinient way of pushing the Festive Menu)
We ordered:
1] Freakshake - This was good decent in terms of taste and quantity. It was priced at โน250 and was just a regular shake in a glass (does not look like a Freakshake) so I do not understand the name. 2] Crispy Veggies - Super delicious in terms of the texture and taste of the dish, major downside was the excessive salt that was added to the dish. It was good but super salty which is a major problem. 3] Quattro Formaggio Pizza - As the name suggests this is suppose to have different types of cheese as topping but sadly there was only a meagre amount of cheese which was also super chewy. The base was horrible, it tasted extremely dry and had the texture similar to the Marie Gold Biscuit (horrible) โน380 down the drain, we can prepare a better Pizza at home with toppings & it wouldnt cost this much! 4] Spaghetti Aglio Olio - Our worst nightmare, we were expecting a good bowl of Pasta and they served us an unedible bowl of salty pasta. It was extremely salty and when we pointed this out to the Manager they replaced it but it was still the same and they said that the Chef did not find it salty at all (does that mean we are fools?) so we asked them to cancel it. We were told that they donโt cancel any orders and that it will be remade, the third time Pasta was super bland on confronting the Manager he tasted the Pasta in front of us and started questioning us as to how this dish should be (in a very rude manner) after explaining what it was suppose to be like we returned the item & insisted that they cancel the dish which they finally agreed to do. We were not making any false claims, the dish was extremely salty the first time and then just plain noodles the second time.
The entire experience ruined our Saturday Night and despite all the trouble caused not even once did they apologies to us for the inconvinience caused. Managers did not even seem to care and were showing attitude to us and simply handed over the bill as if they were asking us to leave which we ourselves no longer wished to stay at a place where you are ill treated. We were regular customers this is definitely not the way to treat...

Looking at the flashy pictures we thought of going to this place to celebrate a friends birthday.
Good: The Ambience. Though it may look cool but it's not when crowd is there. We went on Thursday expecting least crowd but it was full. Still due to open Air... The noise wasn't there. But their music was slightly disturbing to have conversation.
Bad: The food The food is yet another scam like other restaurants. The fancy name dishes which end up being nothing but something made out of paneer, mashroom or potato. The taste had nothing good to offer nor the dishes. There was a dish of mashroom in which they boiled it and stuffed it with chilly chutney and mashed paneer. And also served paneer tikka which covered half of the portion of dish. I didn't want paneer and that's why I ordered only one dish in which paneer was not mentioned and they did this. Even if you imagine this... You'll understand how senseless and tasteless it can be. I don't support such scams in the name of curated dishes. I'm okay with something what I get from name. And also... The prices are same as some fancy restaurant.
Worst: The service The service is nearly pathetic. There is no mechanism to call waiter. Everytime we have to call out loudly to seek his attention. To eat we took almost 20 mins. We spent almost 60 mins to wait for dishes to come one by one with intervals of 10-20 mins which we spent ideal. The funny thing is... We asked about the paneer in mashroom dish we ordered and they said this is what comes in it. We then asked to have whole mashroom dish and guess what.. our starter arrived after we almost done the dinner. The guava juice almost took 35 mins. And that too when I reminded the waiter for the same.
The tables are too large in size and that's why we have to put trays in front of waiter and then take back. Felt like we were begging for it.
I would suggest to go here only to grab a coffee. I didn't taste it but i don't think they can do any bad with it.. one advice... Sit far from the...

Nature at its best!
Finally visited the most awaited place of Ahmedabad city with my friends!
Best food, Best Service and Best Location!
As the name suggests Veranda, which means open-air gallery or porch, it is all about open roof top resto cafe with fresh air in Ahmedabad town and it's more helpful to have some fresh air while binging on fantastic food.
We three friends enjoyed some peace-out period amidst the constant rush of the city. Enjoyed 90's songs while eating. It also acts as a perfect romantic setting with all the exquisite dishes, a variety of drinks to choose from and most obviously, a view to die for. Quality and quantity of the food is simply awesome. Taste wise food is perfect.
Itโs indeed an amazing experience because the restaurant in itself is excellent. The staff is amiable. In all this rush of the daily life, struggling with work and people, Veranda offers a a perfect spot to rejuvenate.
