I've been a regular visitor to Desi Thaat, located in Sector 49, Gurgaon, and I must say that it has consistently offered a satisfying dining experience. This quaint restaurant has become somewhat of a home away from home for my family and me. Here's what you can expect when you dine at Desi Thaat.
Reasonable Pricing: One of the standout features of Desi Thaat is its wallet-friendly menu. You won't find yourself breaking the bank to enjoy a hearty meal here. The pricing is quite reasonable for the quality and quantity of food you receive. It's a relief to have a go-to place that doesn't overcharge while still serving tasty dishes.
Decent Taste: Desi Thaat focuses on delivering authentic Indian flavors. Whether you're a fan of North Indian classics or crave some regional specialties, their menu has something for everyone. From Nan's to curries to tandoori delights, the food here consistently maintains a decent taste. While it might not be the most exceptional cuisine in town, it certainly hits the spot and fulfills your cravings for Indian flavors.
Crowded Evenings: One thing to keep in mind when planning a visit to Desi Thaat is that evenings tend to get quite crowded. This restaurant, while charming, has limited seating capacity. As a result, it can be a bit challenging to secure a table during peak dinner hours. I would recommend making a reservation if you plan to visit during the evening to avoid any disappointment.
In conclusion, Desi Thaat in Sector 49, Gurgaon, is a reliable choice for those seeking a family-friendly dining experience with a reasonably priced menu and decently prepared Indian dishes. It may not be the most spacious or upscale restaurant in town, but it consistently delivers in terms of taste and affordability. Just be prepared for some evening crowds, and you're in for an enjoyable meal with...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI would have rated this place as a negative integer but unfortunately Zomato didnāt give me that option. I am a big foodie and like trying different places to suffice my taste buds. When I was ordering food which was a basic chicken curry (renamed to Chefās Special Rampuri chicken) - the owner proclaimed this to be the best chicken in Gurgaon (rephrasing his words - āAisa chicken aapne zindagi me nai khaya hogaā). With bated breath and an empty stomach, I waited exactly 1 hour 10 minutes for the chicken curry. The curry was not accompanied by roti because they missed writing down our order which obviously comprised of Butter Roti. The owner then tried to add lame humour to the āBelow-Averageā chicken curry saying āMujhe laga aap sirf gravy hi khaogeā. After somehow finishing the extravagant meal, I asked for the bill and the leftover curry to be packed. Apparently the bill and the packed food arrived in less than 30 seconds, because they just emptied the vessel in a poly bag ( no tying with an elastic band, no sealing, no packaging - just left open) for my further take-away. And did I mention, they did not serve even water. Bad Bad Service! I am definitely not coming back guys. Thank you for an amazing experience - definitely didnāt had this anywhere...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWe ordered aloo onion paratha and chicken garlic noodles from this restaurant, hoping to enjoy a delicious meal. However, we were sorely disappointed by the taste and quality of the food. The paratha was bland and dry, as if it was filled with boiled potatoes that had no seasoning or flavor. Although they provided butter, we didn't find the taste. The dough was also not made of pure wheat, but a mixture of wheat and maida, which made it heavy and greasy. The noodles were equally disappointing, as they had very few pieces of chicken in them. The chicken was also undercooked and rubbery, and the noodles lacked garlic and spice. We felt cheated by the menu description, which promised chicken garlic noodles with...
