My Culinary Adventure at Soulful Seoul: A Symphony of Korean Delights
Having spent seven memorable years living in Korea, the memories of my time there hold a special place in my heart. So naturally, when I heard about the Soulful Seoul festival at DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel in Gurugram, I was thrilled.
Hosted by the renowned Master Chef Yong Woo Park from DoubleTree by Hilton Seoul Pangyo, this festival promised to whisk guests away on an extraordinary journey through the vibrant and flavorsome cuisine of South Korea.
From the moment I stepped into Asia Alive, the venue for the festival, I was immersed in the sights, sounds, and aromas of Korean culture. The atmosphere was electric, with traditional Korean music playing softly in the background and the air filled with the tantalizing scent of grilled meats and spicy sauces.
Chef Park's passion for showcasing the authentic flavors of South Korea was evident in every dish he presented. From the succulent Samgyeopsal (grilled pork belly) to the comforting Bibimbap (mixed rice with assorted toppings) and the crispy Jeon (Korean fritters), each bite was a revelation of taste and texture.
One of the standout offerings of the evening was the Hotteok, a type of filled pancake that originated as a popular street food in South Korea. Crispy on the outside and gooey on the inside, it was a delightful combination of sweet and savory flavors that left me craving for more.
But perhaps the most memorable dish of the night was the KimChi SoMyun paired with SuYuk. The spicy tanginess of the KimChi perfectly complemented the savory goodness of the boiled pork slices, creating a harmonious balance of flavors that danced on my palate.
As I savored each dish, I couldn't help but admire Chef Park's culinary expertise and his dedication to preserving the heritage of Korean cuisine. His meticulous attention to detail and innovative flavor combinations truly elevated the dining experience to new heights.
Rajat Tuli, the General Manager of DoubleTree by Hilton Gurgaon Delhi NCR, aptly described the Soulful Seoul festival as an event not to be missed. It's more than just a food festival; it's a celebration of Korean culture, tradition, and the artistry of Korean cuisine.
As I reluctantly bid farewell to Soulful Seoul, I couldn't help but feel grateful for the opportunity to embark on such a gastronomic adventure. It was a night filled with unforgettable memories, delightful flavors, and a newfound appreciation for the rich culinary heritage of South Korea.
For anyone looking to embark on their own culinary journey, I highly recommend experiencing Soulful Seoul at DoubleTree by Hilton Gurgaon. Trust me, it's an experience you won't...

Probably for the first time ever, the #Ladakhicuisine is explored here at #DoubleTreeByHilton, #Gurugram. Appropriately done up the restaurant #AsiaAlive to give the feel of Ladakh. We tried this #Ladakhi Food, the simple homely and healthy food.

Read more⭐ 1/5 — Extremely Disappointing Brunch Experience at Asia Alive, DoubleTree by Hilton I recently visited Asia Alive at DoubleTree by Hilton for their sunday brunch buffet, and unfortunately, it turned out to be one of the worst dining experiences I’ve had. To start with, the buffet spread was very limited for the price they charge. The live counters were poorly managed, and there was no visible menu or list of what was available. I ordered a red sauce spaghetti which they said would be served at the table — it never arrived until I followed up, and when it did, the pasta was undercooked and raw. Basic service was also lacking — bowls were not available, and we had to wait over 10 minutes to get just one, even after requesting two. Most of the dishes looked unappetizing, and many of the baked desserts were dry, tasting stale or reused. Even worse, the food trays had an unpleasant smell when opened, which was off-putting. The taste of the food was very average, definitely not what you’d expect from a hotel of this level. Apart from the pav bhaji, which was decent, almost everything else was disappointing — the kebabs were dry, and the coffee panna cotta was sour, making it inedible. The worst part was the hygiene — I found hair in the kofta and later even in a dessert. The rice served was of very poor quality, not even close to basmati. For a special brunch outing, this was extremely disheartening. We ended up leaving the restaurant hungry and dissatisfied, eventually eating outside. The price absolutely does not justify the quality, quantity, or service provided. Overall, it was a terrible experience, and I would not recommend Asia Alive for anyone looking for a quality brunch. You’re much better off dining at a good local restaurant than spending on this...
