I first heard about this place "Gril Arabe" located opposite Artemis Hospital, Sector 52, Gurgaon, from a Mumbai based friend who had seen an Insta Reel of this place. I was intrigued, as being a Foodie who loves to explore new places, had never seen this place, even though I travel on this Road a couple of times every week. Finally, took the plunge on Friday, though my elder one, the only other non-vegetarian in the family ditched me, only option left for me was a takeaway so that I could order two-three items and enjoy these over two meals. I had eaten at the Afghani restaurants at Lajpat Nagar, so knew what to order. Skipped the most popular Chopan Kebab and opted for Qabuli Pulao, Mutton Tikka and Mutton Kebab (akin to our Seekh Kebab). Qabuli Pulao had long grained rice with Carrot Juliennes, Beans, Raisins with a big piece of Meat, didn't ask if it was Lamb or Buff, as I am fine with either. This dish is in itself a full meal and is a burst of flavors - lightly spiced, that doesn't overpower the taste of Meat. The Mutton Tikka pieces were fresh, tender & juicy, perfectly charred, again lightly spiced, and overall excellent. And paired very well with the Qabuli Pulao. They also went very well with the humongous Tandoori Roti and the two Dips - Garlic Mayo and tangy tomato chilli. Nothing much to write about the Mutton Kebab aka Mutton Seekh which were okayish, a bit Dry and didnt taste like freshly prepared; maybe would have paired well with a salad. I believe these can be given a skip. They also serve a small bowl of Beans or Rajma which were very tasty as well. The place is popular with the Middle Eastern and African patients who come to Artemis Hospital for treatment. By the time my order came, the place was packed with such overseas visitors. My order didn't take much time and was packed in the usual plastic containers, nothing fancy. Overall it was value for money meal costing me Rs 1155, which I finished in two meals. As I stepped out, saw a guy baking middle Eastern kind of breads in a Tandoor, just opposite to this place. A quick picture of the bread inside the Tandoor and a mental note to self to try it another day, I walked over to my parked car, to head home to enjoy this...

I discovered this Yemeni and Afghani eatery on Google Maps and decided to visit since I had been eager to try authentic Afghani cuisine for some time. As soon as we arrived, we were greeted by the irresistible aroma of grilled and smoked meat, assuring us we had come to the right place. We ordered tea, Zurbian chicken, Alfahm chicken quarter, and lamb broth.

The lamb broth had a delicate and subtle taste that highlighted the natural flavors of lamb and vegetables seasoned with mild spices—an ideal start to the meal.

The Zurbian chicken, a Yemeni version of biryani, featured delicately flavored rice infused with subtle spices. It was served with a whole piece of chicken leg and thigh, that was moist, succulent, and flavorful, complete with some potato pieces. This reminded me of Lucknowi or Kolkata biryani—minus the kewra essence. If you enjoy them, you're sure to love this biryani.

The Alfahm chicken quarter, which included a whole piece of chicken leg and thigh, was perfectly grilled, offering succulent, juicy, and moist meat with just the right amount of spiciness. It was served with a giant tandoori roti and shawarma mayo 😍—an impeccable combination that left no room for complaints.

We finished our meal with hot black tea accompanied by a slice of lemon and fresh mint leaves. Squeezing in the lemon and adding the mint created a refreshing, zesty tea that perfectly rounded off our dining experience.

Overall, our visit was a truly gastronomic experience at this hidden gem offering quality Afghani, Arabic, and Yemeni dishes. I highly recommend...

I had my dinner on the 24th of October and it was a fantastic experience. I ordered a full platter with all the kebabs and one chicken shawarma which was fresh and steaming hot. Apart from that, the owner and the service staff were extremely down-to-earth. The owner even suggested that I make my food a little spicier to suit the Indian taste palette. Overall, it was a wonderful experience in every way.
