Jubilant Foodworks popularly known for introducing India to Dominos and Dunkin Donuts has come up with its first home grown Chinese QSR in Hong’s Kitchen and this reason was enough for us to plan a visit here, not to mention the menu looked very simple and tempting and the prices made us a little more hungry that we should have been.
The ambience of this place is spot on and looks like the branding has been worked upon very minutely. The décor looks very lively and the colours used are very soothing to the eyes. The boards hung attached to the roof displaying various signature dishes from their menu with flashing lights gives it a very Pan Asian feel. The chefs in the kitchen can be seen in action through the glass which is always exciting.
We started our meal with a piping hot “Manchow Soup” which had nice consistency and topped with fried noodles. The portion size was very generous considering the low-price range it falls in. Post that we ordered “Chinese Nachos” which though tasted quite good, but had nothing Chinese about them. A little cheese and baking would have made them taste even better. Next, we ordered their signature “Paneer Paradise Steamed Momos” which were very unique in taste. It had a hint of mind in its outer covering and also the filling inside which made them taste amazing. We also ordered “Chilli Paneer” which was a bit disappointing as it had a peculiar taste.
For the main course we ordered a “2 in 1 Regular Combo” which had Veg Manchurian along with Hakka Noodles. The portion again was very generous here and more than enough to constitute a lunch for a single person. The noodles were cooked to perfection and the Manchurian balls and the gravy were great too.
The star of our meal though were their desserts. We ordered “Choco Bao” & “Nutty Fudge Brownie” which both were eggless to start with. The choco bao were very similar to donuts and filled with liquid chocolate and tasted lovely. The brownies were topped with a lot of chocolate sauce and nuts and would have tasted even better if they would have been a softer.
The drinks accompanying our meal were “Mango Mojito” & “Jeera Masala Lemonade”. The mango mojito had small bits of mango tasting like crushed mango bite, along with the other ingredients and was quite nice. Even the jeera masala lemonade tasted brilliant and accompanied our meal very nicely.
Though they work on a self-service model, their order placing process is very smooth and easy. They guide you through the menu nicely and don’t shy away from informing all the offers running currently. Their service time is very less which makes it possible to sneak in a quick meal here.
Overall, Hong’s Kitchen totally impressed us with its no non sense, to the point Chinese food menu and a beautiful décor to enjoy your meal with your friends and family. The bifurcations of veg and non veg kitchen areas specifically displayed would make vegetarian only families more comfortable and looks like Jubilant has another winner in its hands which can go on a long way....
Read moreHad called the restaurant directly to confirm the time and duration to prepare and deliver the order. The restaurant employee confirmed that the order would not take more than 15-20 minutes to be delivered as the location was within sector 49 at orchid petals. After placing the order via zomato we expected the order to be delivered by 30 minutes maximum. The order was placed at 12:30pm and delivered at 2:05pm. It took more than 1 hour for the order to reach us even after the restaurant confirmed it would not take long. To further enquire about the delay in delivery, we placed numerous calls to both the restaurant and the delivery personnel, none of who responded. The delivery tracker on zomato showed arriving in 10 minutes for atleast half an hour and the restaurant tracker which was provided also showed the same and later suddenly changed to preparing your order. This saga continued for more than 1 hour during which neither the restaurant nor the delivery personnel felt the need to reach out to us. Extremely unprofessional and unpleasant experience with the restaurant. Upon arrival of the food, the quality was atrocious as the rice was not cooked completely, the food was not even hot after waiting for so long and the quantity was also mismatched and not upto our expectations at all. Very disappointing service from hongs kitchen. Will never order again and will never recommend to anyone else. Such displeasing service is highly...
Read moreThe restaurant in Sector 49 is roomy and offers a nice atmosphere. There is easy parking available on the property as well.
The house speciality street style chowmein is a must-try dish. Hong's Kitchen elevates this traditional Chinese meal by adding a home sauce that is kept secret and goes well with the sautéed noodles and veggies. This had the flavour of something you could get from street sellers.
Their crispy honey chicken offers a great blend of sweetness and tanginess and is cooked to perfection. The steamed dumplings have a wonderful texture and flavour. Spring rolls come with a delectable spicy sauce and a crunchy covering.
The foods are presented in an aesthetically beautiful manner, and the portions are substantial. You can tell that the dishes are made with fresh ingredients because they are perfectly cooked.
The fast and welcoming service at Hong's Kitchen is also commended for contributing to the overall pleasurable...
