I recently had the pleasure of dining at Pandit Vaishno Dhaba, and it was an experience worth sharing. The moment I walked in, I felt a warm, welcoming atmosphere that set the tone for the meal. The menu had a variety of options, but I decided to go with the classic combination of roti, daal, sabji, and salad.
The food arrived promptly and looked very appetizing. The rotis were soft and perfectly cooked, just like homemade. The daal was flavorful, yet light, and had the right consistency. It wasn’t overly spicy, which allowed the natural taste of the lentils to stand out. The sabji was equally impressive, with fresh vegetables cooked to perfection. It was seasoned lightly, highlighting the freshness of the ingredients rather than masking them with too many spices.
What truly stood out for me was the salad. It was a simple mix of fresh vegetables, but it was extraordinary in its simplicity and freshness. The crispiness of the vegetables and the subtle dressing made it a perfect accompaniment to the main dishes.
One of the things I appreciated the most about Pandit Vaishno Dhaba was the home-like quality of the food. It felt like a meal cooked with care and love, reminiscent of home-cooked meals. The use of fewer spices and the focus on simplicity made the food easy on the palate and the stomach.
The overall experience was delightful, from the friendly staff to the cozy ambiance and, of course, the delicious food. If you are looking for a place that serves wholesome, home-like meals without the frills, Pandit Vaishno Dhaba is the place to go. I highly recommend it and will definitely be...
Read moreIt is one of the oldest food joint in Old Gurgaon since 1951. It is kind of landmark in that area, it is so famous that they have not put any sign board to put the name. It is near the sadar Roshanpura area near Hanuman mandir Ramleela ground behind post office just diagoanally opposite to a big showroom of PP Jwellers
The beauty is that they are serving almost same menu since 1951. It is operated by 2 brothers who always sit there to monitor, they are very humble and helpful. Their menu is simple i.e. one seasonal vegetable and Dal with ghee tadka and salad. Everything is cooked in ghee only on Chulha without onion and garlic They use a big Chulha made of brick and mud to cook all vegetables and chapati. Chapati cooked in Chulha are very tasty. Food is really simple, tasty, fresh and hygienic Kheer is only available on Tuesdays. You won't miss home food if you stay nearby.
The area is very conjested and one must park car in a parking available near the sadar choraha on Delhi road, one can notice a big board of Congress bhavan on top of a very old fort type big door, parking is...
Read moreHad been hearing and reading reviews about this place for the last 15 yrs. Finally, decided today to give it a try. For convenience of readers, the location is right next to PP Jewellers, Roshanpura, Sadar Bazar, Gurgaon. You can't miss the huge neon lit sign board. The place is non descript, without sign board, with four small tables, the fifth one right under the staircase. Hygiene and sanitation, we will not talk about. We reached at 8pm and ordered two thalis with ghee roti. There was mix Dal and aloo lauki subzi with tadka. The preparation was good and fresh. The chulha ghee rotis were soft and good. We avoided the salad and carried our own water. The bill was Rs 160/- only. We finished by 8:20pm. Good enough for curiosity sake for one visit. We then headed straight for Sardarji Jalebi Wala which was just 50 yards ahead. Purchased 1/2 kg piping hot jalebis which were still hot & delicious till we reached home and relished them. Must try. You will fall in love with...
