Generally people decide to go out to a restaurant to be able to eat a good meal and in good spirit , if that’s an occasion it makes it more special because it occupies a place permanently in their memory. I think when a restaurant is conceptualised , the person who starts with the hard work and zeal never does anything wrong intentionally. But slowly, once it gains some ratings, the attitude changes . Here I am talking about Tama a restaurant in sector 16 , which opened a few years back, made a benchmark of sorts in a city Faridabad which wasn’t believed to be so happening at all. I believe they must have toiled hard to get in the hype of the favoured. We used to have good experiences with friends for their food and hospitality. Recently we made a plan to get together. 9 friends in all. It was only 6 pm not even the dinner time We were denied a side room/corner saying that is not possible because they don’t serve in those tables on Monday and Tuesday. Also they don’t have enough servers, only three to be precise. We agreed and adjusted to not spoil our evening and mood. But the service was real slow (read extremely). After a while we saw 6 to 7 people entering the prohibited area and server was stationed there.Surprisingly they were served immediately also. We called upon the manager but there was no response. We repeated our requests for food, drinks and some supervision but they took their own sweet time notwithstanding with time constraints we might be having. Then a person called Mr Sonu Solanki came and and without we could say anything, he said sorry a few times (seems like a routine). We told them that we would not be paying them service charges,He agreed. We tried to pay through Zomato which was very rudely denied as we were not paying service charges. We just paid because already they took 35 minutes for preparing bill and bringing the change. Left the place to never come again. An evening spoilt and made us feel very bad. The ambience is an ancient theme with a total modern effect complementing each other Coming to the food, we were given complimentary gol gappa’s which gave a perfect start! We ordered chicken lollipop along with oreo shake & bartender special mocktail. The lollipop were the crispy from outside and inside they were equally soft which made it different from any chicken lollipop I ever tried. Also, not to forget that they were not thatcoily which also contributed to the impression of the dish. The Oreo shake was perfect as one would like it to be, it was not too sweet that it will result into sugar rush, neither too chocolaty. The mocktail was very refreshing after a drive in the delhi summer where car’s AC are also not chilling the breeze and the amount of ice in it was a total boon. Then we ordered chicken momos, I will stretch out my neck and say that they were one of the best steam chicken momos I have had in my life. Then the last was mix sauce pasta full of vegetables, cheese and spices as I wanted it to be spicy purely satisfied the taste buds. The pasta was soft and with every bite you could feel that mix sauce spreading it’s flavours with different spices and giving a totally another experience of pasta to me. When you complete your order and ask for discount on the bill, you may face rude behavior and even asked for discount on the service charge on the bill which is your right, that too was denied and got rude behavior. . If the manager(duty on 23-Feb) of such a big place cannot listen to a customer properly and behaves very rudely, then how can the staff behave properly. The quantity of offer items is very less as compared to ala-carte of similar order.
You can check my experience of the last day with my corporate colleague. There was a staff member named Sachin who told that the offer is without any discount and you can avail discount on ala-carte. Once we completed the order they refused to give even ala-carte discount. So we ask to call the manager, and told him the whole thing. They also started arguing with us without any reason, using abusive language and threatening us. So we decided, gave it a la cart discount also, then we asked to remove atleast the service charge and they again refused. We faced such service even our order was more than 11K, its not small amount. If someone comes with family or friends then how will anyone be able to tolerate such behaviour with this service. Tama will have to face less crowd day by day, If provide this kind of service and behavior and not to guide that staff properly, Tama will have to close the business, which no one wants due to staff and manager behavior.
