Skol Culture CafĂ© â A Hidden Gem in the Hills of Dharamshala & McLeod Ganj
Nestled in the mesmerizing mountains of Dharamshala and McLeod Ganj, Skol Culture Café offers an unparalleled dining experience. The café is perfectly positioned to give you a breathtaking view of the majestic mountain range. Whether you're there to sip your morning coffee or catch the stunning sunset, the vistas alone are worth the visit.
But itâs not just the view that makes Skol Culture special; the food is absolutely phenomenal. From breakfast to dinner, every dish here is mouth-wateringly delicious. Itâs hard to pick a favorite because everything is prepared to perfection. Whether youâre indulging in a hearty breakfast or enjoying a cozy dinner, youâll find the flavors rich and satisfying. And the best part? You can ask the chefs to tailor dishes according to your preferences. I, for example, requested a gluten-free crepe, and it was nothing short of fantasticâan awesome start to the day!
A must-try is the hand-brewed mocha by Sarthak, the renowned barista of the town. He has mastered the art of brewing, and his special Skol Mocha will leave you craving more. The entire coffee menu is a delight, with each brew crafted to perfection, making this café a must-visit for any coffee lover.
The vibe at Skol Culture is enhanced by the super-friendly staff, who ensure quick and attentive service. But what truly adds to the charm are the cafĂ©'s four-legged stars: Mr. Thor đâđŠș, Ms. Hella đ¶, and Ms. Freya đŠź. These furry companions are a huge part of the cafĂ©âs welcoming atmosphere, and itâs absolutely compulsory to play with them during your visit. They add a heartwarming, playful energy that makes your experience even more special.
Highly recommend making this a stop on your visit to Dharamshala or McLeod Ganjâwhether for a peaceful morning coffee, an afternoon meal, or an evening sunset with a perfect brew in hand! Donât forget to give Thor, Hella, and Freya some love while youâre...
Read moreSkol became synonymous with "Home" during the time I spent there. More than the place itself , it's the feeling it radiates into you. Tried questioning myself trying to pinpoint what about this place made me feel content and at peace, and it's hard to pick out one solid reason, because it's those little things which really matter which gives Skol it's soul. Be it the skilfully crafted coffee served there which hits just the right spot to the point where you're constantly spoiled into wanting more, the staff who've always got a smile on their faces led by their dynamic lead Mr. Sarthak - Skol's heartbeat, or the beautiful cuddly furries wandering around, the expansive collection of books they've got at their disposal , the sumptuous, heart filling food they keep conjuring up every day, the immaculate selection of music curated to enhance your overall experience, the authentic trinkets, art, furniture and attention to the little details , or just the overall energy and vibe in and around the place is wholesome. I assure you, you could walk into Skol in any mind state whenever , and you'd always walk out refreshed, happy and with a smile on your face. A little disclaimer though, always be prepared to extend your stay because that place just pulls you in and doesn't let you leave, the energy be that good. Skol isn't just a cafe, it's an experience. One which only adds to your life. The kind of crowd this place draws is a live example of why this place is genuinely special. Skol's got that vibe of them regular hangout cafe's you get to see in sitcoms only this one's real, although some days it does feel like one of those tv shows, you'd know what I mean when you do go there. I'm forever grateful for being introduced to this Shangri La if you will. Thank you for enriching my life with the experience I was given at Skol, wherein I ended up staying back for almost a month. Absolutely worth it. Wishing you guys all the love and good vibes. Will definitely be back for...
Read moreI've been to many cafes around the world but this small, cozy corner tucked away in sleepy and quaint Indian hill town Dharamshala is truly a special place. The ambience is excellent and the food amazing. A cracking fireplace douses the place in a warm, inviting glow. We settle down in a cozy corner (on of many available at the cafe) with a cup of hot chocolate overlooking a breathtaking view of the Dauladhar mountains. Over the next few days this spot would become our regular spot to hang out over several delightful cups of warm coffee and delicious food ranging from Italian, Asian, Indian and continental cuisines. Not only that, the cafe staff are really flexible and open to accommodating orders that are not on the regular menu. And so, we were able to have amazing parathas one cold December afternoon over warm cups of ginger tea just because the Sarthak, the owner, overheard us saying, " wouldn't it be lovely to have some parathas right now!" The cafe of course is a lovely place but even more awe-inspiring and inspirational is the story behind it. It was started by two young siblings - Sarthak and Surbhi - after many hardships and challenges. I see them really working hard to keep their guests satisfied and happy. And they do it all with a warm and inviting smile. The longer story if this cafe is perhaps for another time but all I want to say is that it's truly an earnest family run business, run by people with a lot of sincerely, honesty and integrity. Having travelled around the world a fair bit, I have had a lot of exposure to the might of the hospitality industry and how it has lost its core motivation of serving people in the mad chase for money and popularity. Hence, when I see a place with its heart in the right place , I feel it deserves a review...
