One of the best places to enjoy Mughlai Cuisine in Howrah with a touch of fine dining experience. The interior of Dilli Khaas is well decorated with aesthetics of mughal royal eateries. I was surprised to see very thin number of people visiting this place. You are definitely missing out if you still haven’t been here. The place is medium sized, yet very cozy. As soon as we visited we were greeted with warmness by the server. As we were waiting for our starters we were offered some appetisers. We had Chicken Malai Tikka in starter with some Mango Panna and Fresh Lime Soda to chug it all down. In mains we had ordered Butter Naan and Laccha Paratha with sides of Dilli Khaas Butter Chicken and Kadhai Chicken. All the items were freshly cooked and on point with spice balance and portion sizes. Chicken was fresh, tender and juicy as it should be. In between the service, the server came multiple times to check on whether we need anything else, and whether everything is alright. We ended our culinary journey with a brownie and vanilla ice cream with hot chocolate syrup on top. Well you cant just go wrong with these staples anyway. Well wait, that’s not the end, just as we were about to get up after clearing the bill, we were surprised by the manager (I guess) with fruit cakes from their accompanying bakery Peasberry. That cake was undoubtedly another great piece as well. This small gesture was a cherry on top with the already top notch service. In a nutshell, I am totally pleased with service, atmosphere and foods that Dilli Khaas has offered. I am recommending this place with all my friends and family to visit at least once. For a city filled with nostalgia and history cherished throughout, a city which broods of sophistication and elegance, a city which now upholds itself as the National Capital of India, there is this very place which celebrates the very intricacies of a city we have always known as Delhi.

The striking resemblance of the dome shaped architectures, wall adorned with shades of brown, radiated with hues of golden lights, you would fall in love with the vintage epitomization, a silent story of the traveller, riding back in time exploring the unique characteristics of Delhi and its history.

The food here is par excellence, bringing forth the cultural heritage and flavours hidden in every nook and corner. Talk about the city which popularised Butter Chicken or holds a lane famed for having fried chicken even more popular than KFC and another legendary shop Aslam Bhai taking its own shot at their own version of a particular preparation of Chicken.

Grab a hole of the Kebabs or simply indulge in their maincourse dishes, Dilli Khaas will surprise you even at the slightest of things.

As somebody who lives nearby and read some good things about the place, I went to Dilli Khaas with some expectations. However, it was not a nice experience.

Pros-

  1. The dal makhani was good. Naan was good as well. Mushroom kebab was average but overall the taste can be rated above average.
  2. The ambience/decor is nice.
  3. Good hygeine standards.

Cons-

  1. Extremely poor service. No one is there to attend us voluntarily and if we try to reach out, it is hard to even get attention of the staff. Despite repeated requests for taking the order, checking the readiness, generating the bill, etc., there is hardly anyone available.
  2. Most of the items in the menu is unavailable. This is first time I am in a restaurant where they said even none of the soups are available. We heard the kebabs are good here so we wanted to order Veg Kebab Platter and even that was not available. In rice neither veg pulao, nor peas pulao was available. Nothing available to drink (beverages) as well except cold drinks which is not in the menu but they will simply pour from a bottle and serve @Rs. 125. It is quite surprising and annoying so instead of looking at the menu, we started asking back then you suggest from whatever you have, what should we order.
  3. We did not like the taste of Kadhai...

Hidden Gem Alert in Howrah! Forget the crowded big-name restaurants—Dilli Khaas is where the real Mughlai magic happens. The place gives royal Mughal vibes with cozy interiors, warm service, and food that’ll make you wonder why it’s not packed every night. We kicked off with Chicken Aslam Bhai Tandoori Murgh, Irani Tangdi Kebab, Mutton Boti Kebab, and Mahi Tikka (Ajwain)—each bite juicy, tender, and bursting with flavor. Drinks? From Spicy Kala Khatta to Fresh Lime Soda, everything hit the spot. For mains, the showstopper lineup: Rara Ghost, Mughlai Mutton Korma, Nawabi Mutton Dum Biryani, Butter Naan, Khamiri Roti, and Tandoori Laccha. Rich, aromatic, perfectly spiced—the kind of meal you don’t forget. What sealed the deal? The manager personally checked on us multiple times and even surprised us with a ₹250 coupon for the next visit. That’s hospitality you don’t see often. Honestly, Howrah folks—you’re sleeping on this one. Dilli Khaas isn’t just good, it’s a must-visit. Let’s not lose gems like this to the shadow of bigger chains. 🔥 Verdict: Worth every rupee. Authentic Mughlai. Cozy vibes. Top-notch service. 👉 If you love good food, go. Don’t think twice.
