CHICKEN SERVED IN VEGETARIAN ORDER

As someone who had heard numerous praises about Camelot Cafe in Hyderabad, my excitement was palpable when I decided to finally visit. The cafe, renowned for its enchanting ambiance and a promising menu, was supposed to be a delightful retreat. Sadly, the experience turned out to be far from magical.

Ambiance and Setting The setting of Camelot Cafe does initially sweep you off your feet with its cozy decor that promises a quaint English cafe vibe. The interiors are tastefully decorated, sparking a lot of expectations as one settles down. This inviting atmosphere played a huge role in building up our initial expectations.

Service and Hospitality Upon arrival, the service seemed prompt. The staff appeared welcoming, and seating us did not take long. However, the efficiency and warmth diminished significantly as the day progressed.

Food and Mishap My friend a vegetarian jain by choice due to religious beliefs, made it a point to order dishes that were strictly vegetarian. Our order included a vegetarian pizza, wedges, and pasta. The pizza and wedges arrived as expected and were quite delightful. The pizza was well-cooked with a good balance of toppings and a crispy crust, while the wedges were perfectly seasoned and crispy.

The real issue arose with the pasta. Despite specifically ordering a vegetarian option, I was served pasta that, to my horror, contained chicken. This was not just a minor error but a severe oversight that deeply affected my dining experience due to my strict dietary restrictions rooted in religious beliefs.

Addressing the Issue Upon discovering the mistake, I immediately brought it to the attention of the staff, expecting a swift and understanding response. Unfortunately, the response was underwhelming. The staff seemed perplexed at first and later defensive, neither providing an apology nor a satisfactory explanation. What compounded the matter was the reluctance to provide a corrected Kitchen Order Ticket (KOT) or the final bill, which I sought for proof to address the matter formally. This lack of proper documentation and accountability from the management was unsettling and pointed to poor management practices.

Overall Impression The unfortunate incident at Camelot Cafe marred what could have been a pleasant dining experience. While the cafe scores points on ambiance and some aspects of the food quality, the mishandling of a critical issue and the subsequent response from the staff and management were highly disappointing. It reflected a lack of professionalism and sensitivity to customer’s dietary needs and religious beliefs, which is non-negotiable in the hospitality industry.

Final Thoughts For those who hold strict dietary restrictions, especially vegetarians, the experience served as a stark reminder that not all establishments can handle such requirements with the seriousness they warrant. My first visit to Camelot Cafe was disheartening, and given the gravity of the oversight and the subsequent poor handling of the situation, I am compelled to caution potential visitors. Adequate training in customer service and dietary awareness is essential for any food establishment, and sadly, Camelot Cafe fell short in...

Camelot - M-W describes it legendarily (1) as the English town where King Arthur has his court and Round Table and in US English (2) as any time, place, etc. idealized as having excitement, purpose, a high level of culture, etc....... While I have no idea what the founder of this place was envisioning while he was setting up this place.... For me as a frequently returning customer at Camelot it definitely leans more towards the second meaning. Not only does it exude a high level of culture, but it also provides a peaceful work environment.

Personally, what I love about this place is that, in addition to its sleek design, fresh decor, delectable cuisine, and generous portions, is their impeccable service. That's what truly sets Camelot apart. Their meticulous attention to detail, care, and non-intrusive but frequent check-ins warrant a rating of 12 out of 10 stars. It takes a deeply ingrained SERVICE mindset to remember the preferences of each customer.

Speaking of their sumptuous food, if you find yourself in the vicinity, you must sample their Tom Ka Gai chicken soup, American chicken sandwich, falafel platter, tri-chocolate cheesecake, biscoff cheesecake, and café Mocha, among other items on their menu. Their consistency is remarkable.

Watch out coffee shops at Banjara Hills, Jubilee Hills, Filmnagar, Sainikpuri.........you definitely have a very strong contender in Camelot. And if you are here to check them out post reading this review, you want to say hello to Bala Chaitanya, their outlet manager, who makes the magic happen :)

Oh! By the way this review is given after nearly 6 months of frequenting this place and trying their food out. Camelot consistently lives up to its promise. Here's to your continued...

Where to start???

Ambiance is amazing. This area actually needed this kind of cafe and great petisserie.

Staff friendly well behaved and welcoming.

Now the most important thing food and desserts. We took for take away as it was weekday and wee didn’t had time and we just came to see the place and stuff here. But we were thrilled and overwhelmed with joy.

We got Mango tart, raspberry tart, doughnuts, cheesecake, tiramisu, panna cota, hazelnut cold coffee, spicy hunan chicken, and also a peri peri chicken pizza ( good thin crust base and chicken italian basil and tomatoes and olives) , list is long may i missed one or 2 desserts but overall we took everything we could hope to taste. And which can determine how well is place in terms of food. Well we weren’t disappointed even on a single dish. Its really difficult to get a good tart which you can eat whole but this place did really great job on tarts. panna cota as it should be jiggly and soft. and so goes for every other piece. chicken starter was really amazing. I personally loved the taste of it. Quality pizza.

Also they will be introducing breakfast (american and italian breakfast) menu soon!

Overall amazing place and can be a great competition for CONCU, but if we see it as inspiration rather than competition and support such in house brands it will thrive and reach sky in terms of success.
