As a culinary explorer, I recently had the pleasure of visiting Hameedi Confectioners in Hyderabad. This historic sweet shop, dating back to 1890, is a treasure trove of authentic flavors and traditional sweets. 100+ years of history, and I have been loving the halwa for about 20 yrs now. What a place and what a taste, everyday its the same.
Upon entering, I was greeted by the warm aroma of freshly made confections. The shop’s ambience is a delightful blend of tradition and warmth, making it a cozy spot for dessert lovers. I was particularly intrigued by their Special Jouzi Halwa, a renowned delicacy that has garnered praise across Hyderabad.
The taste of their Jouzi Halwa is a perfect example of culinary artistry. It's rich, subtly sweet, and has a unique texture that sets it apart from any other sweet I've tried. This legendary treat, known to be a favorite of the Nizam of Hyderabad, carries a piece of history in each bite.
The staff at Hameedi Confectioners are knowledgeable and friendly, adding to the overall delightful experience. Their passion for maintaining the legacy of this century-old establishment is evident in their service and the quality of their sweets.
In conclusion, Hameedi Confectioners is not just a sweet shop; it's a journey through Hyderabad's rich culinary history. Whether you're a local or a visitor, this place is a must-visit for an authentic taste of the city’s heritage. Highly recommended for anyone looking to experience the true essence of Hyderabadi sweets. They can pack the sweets to any destination too....
Read moreWe had to make a bulk order for boondi laddus, the size and kind that are usually made for naming ceremony purpose. We bought a sample of the same to taste and then placed the order. The laddus were extremely sweet, had awful amount of zaffran in it, were too soft and had too much of artificial coloring. Despite that, we assumed that a customised personal order would turn out better as Hameedi is a place our families have been buying sweets from for generations now. We placed a bulk order of 150 boondi laddus, specifically instructed to not put too much sugar, put in proper amount of dry fruits and nuts, use less of saffron and minimal artificial coloring. Unfortunately though, we are regretting heavily having placed an order here and having paid for thousands for it. They absolutely did not follow any of the instructions despite multiple repeated requests as a result of which our laddus turned out awful. They were nauseatingly sweet, extremely soft, had too much of saffron causing it to taste bitter too, had little to no dry fruits and nuts and drenched in ghee/oil and artificial coloring. Overall, an absolute disaster of our order. This place is overrated and over priced and doesn't abide by the standards they had once set up for themselves. Never ordering from this place ever again. Absolute waste...
Read more**Review of Con I recently visited this confectionary and was absolutely blown away by their Jousy Halwa! It was nothing short of amazing—rich, flavorful, and perfectly balanced in sweetness. The texture was spot on, with just the right amount of softness and a slight chewiness that made every bite delightful. It’s clear that they use high-quality ingredients and traditional methods to create this masterpiece. If you’re a halwa lover, this is a must-try!
As for the other savouries, they were also quite good. The selection was diverse, with options ranging from crispy Khara to flaky patties and savory pastries. Each item was fresh, well-seasoned, and had a homemade feel to it. While they didn’t quite reach the same level as the Jousy Halwa, they were still very enjoyable and satisfying.
Overall, this confectionary is a gem, especially for their standout Jousy Halwa. I’ll definitely be returning to try more of their offerings and to indulge in that heavenly halwa again. Highly...
