Shadab SR Nagar - A Mixed Culinary Experience
My recent visit to Shadab in SR Nagar was a mixed culinary experience. The restaurant had a pleasant ambiance, but a few aspects of the dining experience left much to be desired.
The good news first: Shadab's Mutton Biryani and Omlette were outstanding. The flavors were rich, and the quality of ingredients shone through. These dishes were the highlights of the meal, and I would highly recommend them to anyone visiting.
However, there were some disappointments. The Chicken Tangidi Kabab and Chicken Biryani were, unfortunately, quite average. While they weren't terrible, they didn't quite live up to the high expectations I had based on the restaurant's reputation.
The biggest letdown was the Chicken 65, which, in my opinion, was a waste of money. It fell short in terms of taste and quality. It's one of those dishes that I would advise against ordering.
Another point to note is that during weekends, there can be a bit of a waiting time, which is not unusual for popular restaurants. However, this might be something to consider if you're looking for a quick meal.
In summary, Shadab SR Nagar has its moments with outstanding dishes like Mutton Biryani and Omlette. However, there are some average offerings, particularly the Chicken dishes. It's a restaurant with a nice ambiance but has room for improvement in maintaining consistency across its menu. While the overall experience was decent, it may not live up to all the hype, so it's advisable to choose your dishes wisely when...

Shadab Hotel is really popular among food lovers in Hyderabad and at any given time, it is bustling with over 200 people dining and a few of them waiting for a spot. Your waiting time is well worth the biryani and kebabs though. We swear by the Shadab Special Chicken Biryani and asked for it, which arrived quickly. This double masala biryani has large chunks of chicken and we love how tangy the mirchi ka salan makes it. Gladly, we spent INR 340 (Remember, the biryani can be shared between two people) on biryani Planning to treat your non-Hyderabadi friends to asli biryani? Go here. And while you are at it, don't forget to end your meal with a glass of falooda. What Could Be Better Though they have completely revamped the hotel, we still think the seating arrangement...
Read moreHotel Shadab is an iconic landmark in Hyderabad when it comes to authentic Hyderabadi food. Located near the Charminar, it has been serving food lovers for decades and still remains one of the most popular spots for biryani and Mughlai delicacies. The place carries an old-world charm with its bustling atmosphere, aromatic kitchens, and a loyal crowd of locals and tourists who swear by its taste.
The Hyderabadi Dum Biryani at Shadab is legendary â fragrant, perfectly spiced, with tender pieces of mutton or chicken that melt in your mouth. Apart from biryani, their Mutton Haleem (especially during Ramadan) is a crowd favorite and one of the best you will find in the city. Other must-try dishes include Nihari, Paya, Talawa Gosht, and Kebabs, each prepared with authentic flavors. For those who enjoy desserts, their Double Ka Meetha and Qubani Ka Meetha are the perfect sweet ending.
The service is quick and efficient, even though the restaurant is almost always crowded. Prices are very reasonable considering the quality and portion sizes. Parking can be a challenge due to the busy Old City area, but the food is absolutely worth the effort.
Overall, Hotel Shadab is a true Hyderabadi food experience and an unmissable stop for anyone...
