I have been a regular visitor to this restaurant for quite some time, and it was once among my favorite spots for a satisfying South Indian meal. Unfortunately, my recent visit left me disappointed, as the overall food quality seems to have declined noticeably.
I ordered the standard meals, which looked promising with a decent variety of items, but the taste was far from appealing. The flavors felt bland and lacked the freshness and balance this place was once known for. The dosa was passable—neither bad nor particularly impressive—but the uttapam stood out as the only dish that truly retained its earlier standard. It was well-cooked, soft, and flavorful. The coffee, too, was quite good—rich and aromatic, just the way South Indian filter coffee should be. These two items somewhat redeemed the experience, but not enough to offset the overall decline in food quality.
Service, on the other hand, continues to be commendable. The staff were polite, quick to respond, and maintained their professionalism even during busy hours. The ambience is fairly average; it gives a casual, functional vibe suitable for quick meals rather than a relaxed dining experience. However, the seating area is somewhat cramped, and the restaurant often feels congested, especially during peak hours. The narrow seating arrangements can make it slightly uncomfortable for longer stays.
Overall, while this restaurant still holds potential due to its service and select dishes like uttapam and coffee, the declining food quality needs urgent attention to regain its...
Read moreHotel Kamat is a great vegetarian food destination located near the Nampally metro station in Hyderabad. As a vegetarian, I was delighted to find a restaurant that offers such a diverse and delicious selection of food.
The restaurant's menu features a variety of Indian vegetarian dishes, including South Indian specialties such as dosas, idlis, and vadas, as well as North Indian favorites such as paneer tikka, chole bhature, and naan. The food is served hot and fresh, and the portion sizes are quite generous.
One of the standout dishes at Hotel Kamat is their thali, which is a complete meal featuring a selection of dishes served on a platter. The thali includes items such as rice, dal, sabzi, papad, and raita, all of which are cooked to perfection and bursting with flavor.
The service at Hotel Kamat is also excellent, with friendly staff who are always willing to help and make recommendations. The restaurant is clean and well-maintained, with a pleasant ambiance that makes for a comfortable dining experience.
Overall, I would highly recommend Hotel Kamat for anyone looking for delicious and satisfying vegetarian food in Hyderabad. The restaurant offers great value for money, with affordable prices and a wide range of options that are sure to...
Read moreA pure veg, clean and economical restaurant offering mouth watering fresh food with great variety of food options in menu.
They have a normal and family A/c dine area, both of which can accomodate roughly 60 people in total. Their menu has both South and North items, beverages in hot & cold and fresh fruit juices too.
We've tried masala dosa, uttapam, curd rice, veg thali and tea, on different timings and there was no change in taste, quality or service being offered at all.
Every item we'ce ordered was fresh, they took some time to bring it to the table though, so be patient. Taste wise I found the uttapam as best, presentation of every item though was grea.
They are a popular outlet as it was almost packed whether at morning , day or night. Reservation is not offered in advance.
