Just returned from a horrible experience at the Nallagandla branch. To put things in perspective, the one star is for the overall experience. Looked like this place is not interested in dine-in customers and is focusing on the higher ROI from the food delivery channel. The food was good and fresh, but the service quality made it our last visit.
Scantily staffed, people running around like headless chicken, the place was nowhere near a managed one. The memory of the place that is etched in us is the continuous ringing of the phone. It is quite understandable that friday evenings are quite busy, but there was no attempt whatsoever to come and check with us during the 50 minutes wait we had to undergo - that too with senior citizens also in our party - having walked in at 9:10PM. We also felt that we were unwelcome, being non-telugu speaking, looking at the discrimination from other tables. This is the first time we have been made to think in this direction in this city which we have made our home from the last 5 yrs.
Unfortunately, we had to make a scene and threaten to leave after paying for only the chitti gaare we had. However, we conceded respecting the food prepared, and continued to have the food. But, after the incident, looked like things fell in place and the person who was supposed to be in control actually took charge of the floor, phone stopped ringing etc.
To be fair, the food was good and freshly prepared, but has miles to go when it comes to calling itself a restaurant that has dine-in facility, at this price point. Costed us approx 400 per person. Chitti gaare was good, the roti and chicken curry were also good. But, bottom line, they spoilt...
Read moreI recently dined at kodi kura Restaurant, and while the overall experience was decent, there were some notable disappointments. Here's my review:
Ambiance (3/5): The restaurant has a pleasant and cozy ambiance. The decor is simple yet inviting, making it suitable for both casual lunches and family dinners.
Service (3/5): The service was average. The staff was polite but not particularly attentive. We had to wait longer than expected for our orders to arrive.
Food Quality (3/5): Now, let's get to the heart of the matter—the food. I ordered the Veg Special Biryani, and unfortunately, it fell short of expectations. Here's why:
Veg Special Biryani: The biryani lacked the vibrant flavors I associate with this dish. The rice was slightly overcooked, and the spices seemed muted. But the most disappointing aspect was the absence of vegetables! Yes, you read that right—no veggies in a "veg special" biryani. It was essentially a plain rice dish with a few cashews thrown in. 🙁
Value for Money (3/5): Considering the portion size and taste, the prices were reasonable. However, the lack of vegetables in the biryani left me feeling unsatisfied.
In summary, Restaurant has potential, but they need to step up their game, especially when it comes to the Veg Special Biryani. If you're looking for a quick meal, it's an okay choice, but don't expect anything extraordinary.
Note: I've given it 3 stars because of the ambiance and reasonable pricing, but the biryani definitely needs...
Read moreThey say we learn something new everyday. On this particular day, just before heading to our kids sports fest, we were in search of a lunch spot in the Patancheru area. Disappointed by the options, we took the Outer Ring Road towards Tellapur and at the next exit decided to search for something. We chanced upon Kodi Kura Chitti Gare, not knowing what to expect. To our surprise, it was a lovely, vibrant and clearly popular place for lunch, given it was nearly packed when we arrived! Funnily, with time being a constraint, we chose to have a simple garlic soup, chicken curry and garlic naan. Flavours were nice and we were satisfied with the dining experience, only to see the table beside us being served golden brown, crispy, fresh medhu vadas! Even more interesting to us was this vada being served with chicken curry! Something I would never have imagined, coming from Bangalore, to even be an option. When we asked the waiter, he said the name of the restaurant effectively translates to that dish which is the staple ordered by most when they visit, asides from their biryanis. Anyway, all-in-all a lovely find and we look forward to our next visit to try the "kodi kura chitti gaare" vada with chicken curry along with one of the many famous biryani options available. Be sure to check out the daily specials listed on the whiteboard right hand side as you enter the restaurant. Like I said in the start, we do tend to learn something...
