One of the newer cafes in Madhapur, Last House Coffee opened its doors to the public just a few months before and is already packed up with patrons across all nationalities for its minimalist decor and a lush green lakeside view. Set up right next to Durgam Cheruvu, the place has a multi level dining setup which runs a tiny kitchen menu but a plethora of coffee options available. The speciality of their coffees is that everytime is a 100% pure Robusta which is single source from their farm, proceeds of which are used to develop coffee farming in the estates. Coming to the limited menu I tried, my picks would be

1.) Iced Caramel Popcorn Latte - A sweet cold coffee mixed in with popcorn syrup giving a lovely smoky popcorn aftertaste, this is surely a must try!

2.) Cold Brew - Loved the portion size here for the price which comes in strong and bright compared to many other places whose coffees taste much diluted in this format

3.) Chicken Jalapeno Focaccia Sandwich - A definite belly-filler dish which comes with a grilled Focaccia having a minced chicken filling lathered with some cream cheese and tangy jalapenos. Loved the cold tomato soup it comes along with

4.) Cinnamon Roll - One of the best cinnamon rolls in town, the place sources it's take from the best chef who's specialising in the dish for quite some time now. Try it with an espresso and you'll love it

I recently visited Last House: By The Lake and while the place has potential, the overall experience was quite average. Starting with the food — it was underwhelming. The menu sounded appealing, but the taste did not deliver. Dishes lacked seasoning and freshness, and nothing really stood out. For a place in such a scenic setting, you’d expect much better quality and flavors.

The service was also not up to standard. The staff didn’t seem very attentive or engaged. We had to wait longer than expected for our order, and follow-ups were ignored multiple times. It wasn’t necessarily rude behavior, but it definitely didn’t feel like we were being taken care of. Basic hospitality seems to be missing.

As for the atmosphere, it was just okay. The lakeside location is a plus, but the ambiance felt neglected. The seating area wasn’t very clean, and the overall vibe felt like it lacked attention to detail. A little more effort in lighting, music, and cleanliness could’ve made a big difference.

It’s not a terrible place by any means. If you’re just looking to hang out with friends by the lake and aren’t too particular about food or service, it might do the job. But if you’re expecting a memorable dining experience with good hospitality, this probably isn’t it.
