While searching for places that serve Maharashtrian food, I came across this place and decided to try it out though its a fair distance from my house. Marathi Katta is a small yet well maintained place in Badichowdi, near Sultan Bazaar and is a good place if you're craving for some Maharashtrian food. The nearest metro station is Sultan Bazaar. We tried out Misal Pav, Thalipeeth, Sabudana Vada and Kokam sharbat. Misal was a little spicy and even with the Pav, the spice wasn't neutralized, but, overall taste was good. Thalipeeth was excellent. It was served with 'thecha' - a spiced chilli pickel and curd. Sabudana wada was also good to taste and Kokam sharbat was nice and refreshing. Suggestions: 1. Can serve the farsan separately along with Misal Pav, so, it can be added as per the diners requirement. Not everyone likes a lot of farsan in their misal. Can be flexible with the quantity and introduce half plates, so that, more dishes can be tried, for eg: serve 1 Thalipeeth instead of 2 as a mandate, half plate Sabudana Vada or Puran Poli, etc. This will reduce the portions and the pricing can be done accordingly. The place is clean and looks hygeinic, can stop in for some good Maharashtrian delicacies.
Suggestion for diners: Avoid taking a car, either a 2 wheeler or taking public transport...

The food quality has gone south. The first time we had food a little over a year ago here, we were happy to see Maharashtrian food being made available. The taste was also good.
Fast forward to 27th Feb 2022, we ordered thalipeeth and Bhakri+Brinjal curry. All of it was hot, salty and very oily. The thalipeeth was okay but nothing like what the authentic version tastes like.
Very disappointed with the shift in food quality. Hope you guys reclaim the original tasty Maharashtrian food crown. Older Review (2 years ago)
I'm glad that there's some place in Hyderabad where authentic Maharashtrian food is available.
The menu is limited and definitely doesn't cover the whole range but the limited items have been made so well that they taste like home made food.
You should try our the thaalipeet here. Chapati with brinjal curry took me back to my days in Maharashtra.
I hope this place continues to grow and increase...
Read moreMasala baingan and Jonna roti with green chilli chutney means in Marathi it's bharli vaangi Ani jowarichi bhakri and thecha... 🤤🤤 A Wow combination. I loved the ambience, small place with enough seating arrangements. Service was moody 😄 could have been better 🙏. I went with my Bengali friend who suggested me this place while we were roaming in nearby markets. Being from Maharashtra, I liked the taste of food. My friend ordered Pav bhaji which was good in taste unlike other places who mix all sorts of food colors to bring the presentation. But here the taste spoke it all. Good taste of Pavbhaji just the way you will cook at home 😋. We got a sweet dish once we were done, that is Srikhand which we bought home. Per head costs 200-300/- depending on what items you...
