Santosh Dhaba - Original — Restaurant in Hyderabad

The good thing about Santosh Dhaba is that it is almost everywhere in Hyderabad and many are using original tag in there name. It is impossible to find which one is original and which one is duplicate. Santosh Dhaba by its name is very famous restaurant for pure vegetarian food but the quality of the food is not maintained everywhere. The surroundings of this restaurant is not good, observed foul smell out side of the restaurant and very dusty as well. Inside it is very shabby and the staff is very arrogant. The person who was serving food was in a high attitude and he was shouting on other waiter making uncomfortable for the people sitting in the restaurant. The service was just okay as we have to ask the serving guy multiple times to get the items and the food was not that great as it use to be in Santhosh Dhaba. Tandoori roties were made of maida, despite asking before ordering about the flour and were told roties were made of wheat flour. Dal tadka was okay but punjabi paneer was too oily and filled with over spices. They missed to serve masala papad because they told it takes a lot of time in an attitude, then why it was added in the menu itself if you can serve it. The moment we entered the restaurant, we were hit by a strong smell of urine, and there were flies all over the place. Later, when we went to wash our hands, we discovered the source of the stench—it was coming from the washroom, which was located right at the entrance and was in a disgusting condition.

We proceeded to order their so-called “special biryani.” To our shock and disgust, while finishing the meal, we found a cockroach in the biryani. We immediately called the manager, but instead of showing any concern or offering an apology, he responded with a pathetic attitude and complete lack of professionalism.

To make matters worse, they had the audacity to charge us for the biryani that had a cockroach in it—no apology, no compensation, just a bill shoved at us as if nothing had happened.

The hygiene was appalling, the service was terrible, and the manager’s behavior was unacceptable. This place should be avoided...

Waiters here are so rude.. First thing they will serve food with sad face, weird expression if we call them and order something, no response if we ask something. Well i understand they are humans and might get exhausted working for the whole day but they cannot show attitude nd keep sad faces and irritated as if there are serving food for free.. i went with my family obviously small kids will eat little slow and it took time for us.

I asked for bill and i gave a tip according to the waiter’s behaviour (50 Rs nothing to hide but that guys don’t deserve this also ).. literally that guy commented “ek ghanta khaye aur 50rs diye” seriously so pathetic experience today.. as if waiters are not getting salary and hence they expect high amount of tips from customers.. tip will be given based on the service they provide.
