Pathetic!!! One of the most horrible places I have ever visited. This is highly overrated and is not at all an authentic south cuisine. Waiters and servers have absolutely no clue about the food and if you are a person with zero knowledge of the language here, you will end up ordering some horrible food recommended by the waiters. Well that was not the case with me as I was aware about the south indian food names but it was a disaster. They were serving cold food which was served to you within a minute after ordering so practically its not even semi cooked but is already made ready to serve. We ordered the items (shown in the receipt) which hardly had any mutton or chicken pieces and in the name of gongura chicken, they are serving a extremely salty chettinad chicken . Do not fall for it. In the name of south indian andhra style cuisine, they are serving highly salty foods which are hitting the taste buds badly. I would recommend to go to Simply south instead to try good authentic south indian cuisine. They even refused to provide us additional Papad saying they closed it, well I don't complaint for that as it was all soggy whatever they provided earlier. Weird part we reached there at 3pm and the reason is they have reservations opened till 4.30pm + so ideally they should be having food items and the restaurant was jam packed. There was not even a single prawn dish and the famous thali was also not available. Then icing on the cake when I saw them serving chinese food. How it is claiming to be an authentic south indian restaurant which is serving chinese food? It is just overrated like Paradise Biryani. They are hoodwinking the customers in the name of authenticity. This was my first and last visit to this place. I will not recommend...
Read moreI had the worst restaurant experience in Ulavacharu Jubilee hills branch. I have watched a video on "Street Bite YouTube Channel"on the safety measures and the quality of food being served at Ulavacharu, the vidoe seemed to be very safe and they sounded worth a visit. But there is nothing like they show in their promotional videos, no proper sanitisation, no temperature check, no foot sanitization, no full body sanitization, please do not trust those promotional videos. On top of it the place is very crowded, they are not even following social distancing. No neatness at all, no proper masks or gloves are being used by the staff over there. The use to the same gloves while cleaning the table as well as serving the food.
Coming to the food and service: They are not even taking the orders properly or serving them properly. They gave our order in other table and other tables order in our table. Food also did not seem so great or it's not even worth the prices they are charging. They have charged the normal fry piece Biryani around 350(basically it is more of bones than a proper chicken piece), the food isn't hot enough. They did not serve the sides(raitha, mirchi ka salan, salad none of them). We on repeatedly asking the waiter for 7 or 8 times then he bought them, by that time the food become cold also. Staff don't respond to you for anything, they have shown attitude to their customers. Sandeep is the guy who booked us a table and assured us about the quality of service and hygiene. But he did not even respond once we were at the restaurant. We tried talking to the manager; he is also even concerned about the customer satisfaction.
Ambience is also bad. Our...
Read moreUlvacharu is laid out in a traditional and antique format. Stone pillars , water fall cut out of a tree , windows and doors of old wood and iron , metal ceiling ... brings a convergence of old and contemporary architecture.
Floor is segmented very intelligently and aesthetically into smaller spaces for privacy.
Was here for the soft launch. The guthi vankaya annam( brinjal fry and rice ) just blew my mind. Super thick , rich and flavourful gravy on top of flavoured rice. Excess oil in this dish is a problem in most places . There was hardly any oil.. just blissful , flavourful gravy 😍
I have had uluvacharu ( tangy , spicy horse gram gravy ) only 2 times earlier in my life. Hadn't liked it on both occasions. My friend forced me to try the Uluvacharu here. After a couple of licks the taste got to me and had multiple servings. It is a very very tangy gravy ... and the taste is very strong and unlike anything else... difficult to explain, but very enjoyable 😊
Pappucharu annam( special dal rice) is quite deceptive in looks. From the first spoon the spicy, ghee laced dish is to die for. Some may find this dish on the spicier side, but I find it perfect.
Apricot delight - soft layers of pudding on top of double ka Meetha slices below. This is their signature dessert. A very unique, delectable creation. A must have !!!
In my view Uluvacharu is a welcome addition to Bangalore and a must try for all...
