Decent Meal, but Poor Service and Rude Owner at Royal Sheeshmahal Restaurant

We visited Royal Sheeshmahal Restaurant during our trip to Amer, and overall, it was an average experience. The food was decent—nothing extraordinary, but it got the job done, especially after a long walk through Amer Fort. If you’re looking for a quick bite in the area, this restaurant serves its purpose.

However, there were a few things that stood out, mostly for the wrong reasons. First, the service was quite slow. The restaurant only had one waiter to manage all the customers, and since the kitchen is located outside the main dining area, this led to long wait times. The single waiter seemed overwhelmed but did his best given the circumstances.

What really soured our visit, though, was the rude behavior of the owner. Sitting at the entrance, he was not only unwelcoming to customers but also quite disrespectful and mean to the only staff member present. It’s hard to understand how someone in the hospitality industry could treat guests and employees this way—he clearly seemed to be in the wrong line of work.

Additionally, the bathroom facilities were quite dirty, which detracted from the overall experience.

In summary, Royal Sheeshmahal is a decent spot for a quick meal after visiting Amer Fort, but the poor service, rude owner, and unsatisfactory cleanliness make it difficult to fully recommend. If you’re not too particular and just need a place to rest and eat, it might work, but don’t expect...
