Great Veggie Tamil Food
During my visit to Jammu, I found them on random search for coffe joints nearby on a November evening. It was a quick 10 mins walk from where I was staying. Though the entry to the place does not look welcoming, I was surprised right from the moment I walked into their restaurant. We got a complimentary cup of hot rasam...first. November cold weather and that Rasam, Made for Each Other.
Scanned menu to find out the usual items like idli, vada,.dosa, rice varieties, parottas, and all that. But a few items like Aloo Bonda and Rice paniyaram caught my eyes. Ordered a couple of those and waited sipping the rasam. When they were brought, I was quite impressed to see them served on a banana leaf ( remember @ Jammu), with freshly ground coconut, pudina and ginger chutney. Sambar...was great too. Platter was lipsmacking!!!
Have to admit that we repeated the order immediately as it was all done in a few mins. Tried Medu Vada as well... Awesome again. Ordered coffee to complete the experience.... What do I say...Filter coffee in a brass dawara tumbler set that too so far out there at Jammu....priceless.
We ended up at the same place next morning to try out their other breakfast options... They were all very tasty.
Overall, for all South Indians travelling to Vaishnodevi or other attractions around Jammu this can be a fantastic place to get some authentic South Indian Vegetarian Food as a break from parathas, Kulchas,...

Though they say they make pure South Indian food but believe me, many other restaurants available in Jammu even street vendors available at Gandhi Nagar or Last Morh can make Dosa’a more tasty then them! (No Offence! These are my views and concerns!)
People here are not open to feedback, I told the server 5 times that it’s tasteless, Sambhar is having only soupy gravy, no vegetables and all and they were just smiling!
Our Visit and Review: Visited and ordered 1 Paneer Dosa and 1 Rava Masala Dosa.
Paneer Dosa: Believe me the Paneer Dosa when got served was not having enough paneer that a person can eat and it was just rubbed on Dosa’s walls.
Rava Dosa: Rava dosa was not dosa, it was punjabi masala papad served to us with Mashed Potatoes sprinkled with turmeric and salt! The masala was even missing with onions or any spices!
Porotta: It was good but doesn’t matter as above 2 items made our tastebuds go mad!
So, my reviews being mine, you please go and try!
But do try Dosas and More, Swami Dosa and Dosa...
Read moreThe ambience is good. The service got delayed and forgetful (the waiter forgot to deliver the proper order) as there was only one waiter serving everybody. It seems they have fired many of their staff in the pandemic. We were served rasam at room temperature (not even warm, forget the hot rasam). Though the food was tasty. They have also reduced the quantities, like only one teaspoon chutneys, the sizes of jumbo idli has been reduced, but the prices are the same. We didn't feel full and satiated. We didn't relish the food as we have relished in the past.
The food is tasty but they need to work on service and please increase the serving size (at least as per the market standards). They have a good eating space and ambience. Social distancing can easily be...
