Hotel Kashmir Inn — Restaurant in Jammu and Kashmir

Access/location: Close to Srinagar-Leh Highway; little inside a lane opposite Khyber Medical Institute; just 1 km from Dalgate Bus Stop (near Dal Lake); at walking distance to Munawar Link Road which has many decent shops for buying shawls, silk sarees, handicrafts (especially papier mache products), dry fruits, etc. Even local mini-buses and autorickshaws are available near the busy Khayam Chowk junction.||||2. Neatness: Very neatly maintained property even though it is in a packed locality.||||3. Service: Extremely courteous. Helpful with local information, arranging taxi/tour. Good knowledge of English and Hindi which made our communication easy.||Examples of service in need are as follows: The normal breakfast time was from 7.30 a.m.; however, because we had to leave for airport at 7.30 a.m., the cook at the inn Mr. Adil made breakfast ready at 7.15 a.m. itself. The well-travelled and knowledgeable Mr.Niyaz even helped relieve my tension by getting confirmation of despatch of shopping parcel by speaking to the merchant inside Dal Lake in Kashmiri; it was important because I was unable to make/receive calls on my pre-paid plan mobile (Only post-paid plans work in Srinagar and other places in Kashmir, as I came to know after reaching Kashmir).||||4. Hot water available in bathroom with centralised heating across rooms.||||5. Food available within the inn on order – both vegetarian and non-vegetarian. For those who prefer restaurants serving exclusively vegetarian food, this inn is 1.6 km from a series of Dhabas (Krishna, Vaishnav, etc.).||||6. Many plug points are available for charging mobile. Adequate fans are also available.||||7. Wifi is provided at no extra charge; for travellers like me who had pre-paid plans which wouldn’t work there, this was a blessing as I could communicate through Whatsapp (message and calls) from within the inn premises.||||8. Rooms are spread over 3 or 4 floors. No lift, as I remember. Travellers having trouble climbing stairs may take note. Travellers arriving in big vehicles may not be able to reach the inn as the approach lanes leading to the inn are not wide.||||9. Price is reasonable; value for...

-COVID PRECAUTIONS: NOT FOLLOWED, No Mask, No sanitization followed by hotel owner and his family. -THIS IS NOT A HOTEL, IT IS HOUSE STAY. -Lot of Noise from street dogs and difficulty faced in sleeping -This hotel is 20 steps away from the mosque, Also the speaker was properly audible. -Rooms are very small in size -Complementary water bottle not provided -TV was not working. -Dustbin was full of old garbage -No lift , you need climb 2-3 floors [Tough for family including aged members] -No Car Parking Space, even bike is hard to park as there is very small entry passage around 1-1.5feet. -Not on main road, After crossing 4-5 small streets. It is in residential area where local people stares. -Personally i don't feel safe living in proper residential area in Srinagar -Breakfast : Only Bread and Omelets provided in package with Tea. -Dinner : No chef/ worker is there , Dinner is cooked by the owners family which too is low quality and overpriced. No Chapati and the rice they cooked was not even basmati, they were cheap broken and boiled rice . -Quantity and quality was not up to the mark. -Bike Rental: We hired a bike which the owner said was new, was very uncomfortable which caused lot of back and hip pain. No helmet lock you need to carry helmet wherever you go. -The owner tries to earn commission in everything you ask bike rental, taxi, shikhara, Houseboat. The hotel is cheap overall If you are looking for cheap option you may go and stay if you are in large groups. But for families and couples it is not recommended.

I book this hotel by booking.com because rate was nice as compare to other hotel , we also decide a package for Srinagar sightseeing including gulmarg , sonmarg, phalgam and local these all were awesome place to visit but be care full of people they are just like eagle every where just come to eat you .||Hotel owner was nice on first 2 days because he has to take money from us . As it was so cold I ask for heater , these people donot have humanity that people coming from outside in this season has to provide heater they as me to pay 200 Rs for every night for a non working heater beside this internet they write in booking.com and other media that 100 Rs for 1 day but when I ask on first day he say you have to wait for my brother next day we ask again then he says 120 Rs for Internet we say it's ok but as we use internet after 1 hours they close that and I go again and ask them and they said you use 1gb now tomorrow , I was shock and I say I will pay more switch on Internet so what they write please double check .||The driver who the owner hire for us for 4 days was rude he donot tell us where he taking us when ever we ask him then only he reply and said this is this place and famous for this so what is the use of coming as a tourist in your place. The driver take us those place where he has commission with the local people he did not tell us any thing from we have to be safe or what thing we donot do .||Owner brother was so arrogant and rude donot know how to talk to people.||No room service no reception and no guest also when we were there ||Please check before you go this place .||||But Kashmir is a awesome place to visit please go and enjoy the beauty but just care full...
