Extremely Unhygienic and Misleading – Worst Experience at Chikky Bell, Surathkal

I usually don’t leave negative reviews, but my recent experience with Chikky Bell in Surathkal was honestly terrible, and I think people should know what they’re walking into.

To start with, I had serious concerns about the kind of chicken they serve. I asked if the meat was halal, and the delivery guy casually said it might be jatka, but he wasn’t sure. For those of us who follow dietary restrictions, this kind of uncertainty is a big deal. A restaurant should be clear and transparent about what they’re serving — it’s the least they can do.

What made things worse was the condition of the food. The chicken wasn’t cleaned properly at all — it had skin, some visible dirt, and just looked really unhygienic. It honestly didn’t even look like it was washed before being cooked. I’ve attached a photo, and trust me, it was enough to ruin my appetite.

The service wasn’t any better. They took way too long to deliver, and there was zero professionalism from their end. No updates, no courtesy — nothing.

Overall, it was one of the worst food experiences I’ve had in Mangalore. Between the poor hygiene, unclear information about the meat, and careless service, I really don’t feel safe ordering from here again. Definitely not...

I recently ordered from Chikky Bell in Surathkal, and honestly, it was a really disappointing experience. The food was not up to the mark at all — the chicken didn’t seem properly cleaned, and the taste was just off. You expect at least basic hygiene from a restaurant, but even that was missing.

I’ve been to Chicky Bell in Abish Mall, Surathkal, a few times, and it’s always a solid choice for good food. Last time, I ordered their "Grill N Fried" combo for 499 rupees, which came with a nice variety: a quarter grilled chicken, two fried chicken pieces, two hot wings, two kubbus, and a garlic dip. It was a great deal, and they even gave me an extra mayo on request, free of charge—a nice little touch.

The quality of the food impressed me, especially the grilled chicken. The thighs had this perfect crispy exterior, and the meat inside was juicy and well-cooked. The garlic dip paired well with everything, and the kubbus was fresh. The service was friendly and quick, which made the experience even better.
