Extremely Unhygienic and Misleading â Worst Experience at Chikky Bell, Surathkal
I usually donât leave negative reviews, but my recent experience with Chikky Bell in Surathkal was honestly terrible, and I think people should know what theyâre walking into.
To start with, I had serious concerns about the kind of chicken they serve. I asked if the meat was halal, and the delivery guy casually said it might be jatka, but he wasnât sure. For those of us who follow dietary restrictions, this kind of uncertainty is a big deal. A restaurant should be clear and transparent about what theyâre serving â itâs the least they can do.
What made things worse was the condition of the food. The chicken wasnât cleaned properly at all â it had skin, some visible dirt, and just looked really unhygienic. It honestly didnât even look like it was washed before being cooked. Iâve attached a photo, and trust me, it was enough to ruin my appetite.
The service wasnât any better. They took way too long to deliver, and there was zero professionalism from their end. No updates, no courtesy â nothing.
Overall, it was one of the worst food experiences Iâve had in Mangalore. Between the poor hygiene, unclear information about the meat, and careless service, I really donât feel safe ordering from here again. Definitely not...

I recently ordered from Chikky Bell in Surathkal, and honestly, it was a really disappointing experience. The food was not up to the mark at all â the chicken didnât seem properly cleaned, and the taste was just off. You expect at least basic hygiene from a restaurant, but even that was missing.
What really bothered me was the lack of clarity about the type of meat they use. I asked if the chicken was halal, and the delivery guy said it might be jatka, but he wasnât sure. That kind of confusion is not okay â people have the right to know what theyâre eating, especially if itâs related to their faith or personal choices.
To top it off, the service was bad too. Delivery was delayed, there were no updates, and the staff didnât seem to care at all.
Honestly, not worth the money or the risk. There are plenty of better places in Mangalore that serve good food and take their customers seriously. I wonât be ordering...
Read moreIâve been to Chicky Bell in Abish Mall, Surathkal, a few times, and itâs always a solid choice for good food. Last time, I ordered their "Grill N Fried" combo for 499 rupees, which came with a nice variety: a quarter grilled chicken, two fried chicken pieces, two hot wings, two kubbus, and a garlic dip. It was a great deal, and they even gave me an extra mayo on request, free of chargeâa nice little touch.
The quality of the food impressed me, especially the grilled chicken. The thighs had this perfect crispy exterior, and the meat inside was juicy and well-cooked. The garlic dip paired well with everything, and the kubbus was fresh. The service was friendly and quick, which made the experience even better.
Overall, Iâd say itâs a good spot for quality grilled and fried options. The place stays open until 11 p.m., so itâs convenient for a late bite too. Definitely a place Iâd recommend if youâre in the mood for a hearty,...
