Prices are sky high. Visited there with lots of excitement and positive mind but got disappointed with money minded approach of management. Ambience is good, service is fast and good, Chatpatis are very good I must say, freshly prepared and Garma Garam. Rest of food is not that very extraordinary and just average, both in quantity and quality. Quantity /portion of food and size of plate ( for vegetable or Dal you order) is smallest in Hampi and other nearby restaurants and barely will suffice for two people. Quality too is more hyped that actual one you get. And owner is taking advantage of same hype to increase the charges for every item you order for. Prices are 25 to 50 percent higher than other good peers ( Hampi Cafe, River View, Tamarind Tree etc) in Hampi, but also way higher as compared to metropolitan city like pune, Mumbai, Bangalore etc. Simple Dal fry ( small size plate) Rs 180, Masala papad Rs 80 ! ( Average size fried papad with few srinkles of Shev and onion coriander pieces ), plain Rice was reasonable Rs 70 but with very small quantity ( Small bowl of a dal / rassam was used to provide 1 qty of plain rice ). I mean I was stunned to see the quantity and bill. And when I asked the owner about the same, then he argued that prices are high due to very good extra ordinary quality ( which is not true at all), good service ( party true) and costly manpower in Hampi area ( with which a customer has nothing to do with ). I advised and requested owner to keep check on prices while maintaining quality as other peers in Hamp. He agreed that prices were temporarily raised due to festival season. Again raising questions in mind of customer like me. Hope management will take this feedback positively and will act on it. Wishing them all the best. So to summarise, ambience and service is good, food is ok, but not suitable for those who don't want to let hard earned money go easily and who look for a worth deserved food at cost of...
Read moreDetailed Review for Mango Tree Restaurant, Hampi
Mango Tree Restaurant is undoubtedly one of the best places to dine in Hampi, offering a blend of great food and a charming ambiance. My experience here was delightful, and I feel lucky to have been seated quickly, as the restaurant is often crowded due to its popularity.
Ambiance & Seating: The ambiance is welcoming and serene, perfect for enjoying a relaxed meal after exploring the beautiful town of Hampi. The restaurant offers both traditional Indian-style seating and standard table-and-chair arrangements, catering to different preferences. The waiting area is spacious and well-organized, ensuring a comfortable experience while you wait.
Parking & Accessibility: There is ample parking space outside the restaurant, which is a big plus, especially in a tourist-heavy area like Hampi.
Food & Menu Options: The restaurant is renowned for its South Indian and North Indian thali options, which I found to be flavorful and satisfying. The menu boasts a wide variety of dishes, ensuring there’s something for everyone. The prices are reasonable, though not the cheapest—fair for the quality and portion sizes provided.
Service: The service was prompt and efficient, adding to the overall positive experience.
Desserts & Drinks: I tried the Bonoffee Pie, which didn’t quite meet my expectations, but other dessert options seemed promising. The lassi, however, was refreshing and well-prepared.
Extra Tip: Don’t miss the masala paan available just outside the restaurant. It’s the perfect way to end your meal, whether it’s lunch or dinner.
Overall Impression: Mango Tree Restaurant is a must-visit in Hampi for its ambiance, diverse menu, and excellent service. While some items may not be exceptional, the overall experience makes it...

For lunch, we savored a South Indian thali, which was delicious and filling, along with a pizza that had a perfect crust. To wash it down, we ordered a refreshing sweet lassi—a must-try! Later that day, we returned for dinner and indulged in a flavorful paneer starter and chapatis, accompanied by fried rice. Each dish was well-prepared, showcasing the culinary expertise of the kitchen.
What truly made our experience memorable was the exceptional service provided by Mr. Sachin. He was attentive and offered great suggestions, making us feel well taken care of. To our surprise, he even recognized us when we returned for dinner and remembered our previous lunch order. It felt nice to have that personal touch!
The restaurant also offers good facilities, including spacious and clean restrooms, which is always a plus. The rugged parking space made it convenient for us to visit without worrying about where to leave our vehicle.
