My recent visit to Amrut Restaurant left me utterly disappointed and frustrated. I had high hopes for a delightful dining experience, but unfortunately, it fell short in every aspect. First and foremost, the service was abysmal. Despite placing a simple order of fish thalis and chicken biryani, it took well over an hour for our food to arrive. This unacceptable delay left us hungry and impatient, and the lack of communication or apology from the staff only added to our frustration. Moreover, the staff's demeanor was far from courteous. Their indifference to our plight and apparent lack of concern for customer satisfaction was glaringly evident throughout our ordeal. It's disheartening to see such disregard for basic hospitality in a supposedly reputable establishment. Adding insult to injury, there seemed to be no valid reason for the prolonged waiting time. The restaurant was not particularly busy, yet we were made to wait unnecessarily, which only further dampened our dining experience. To make matters worse, the restaurant imposed numerous unnecessary restrictions, making the dining experience feel restrictive and unwelcoming. These arbitrary rules served only to exacerbate our dissatisfaction and detract from the overall ambiance of the restaurant. One of the most basic amenities lacking was the absence of finger bowls, a staple in any decent dining establishment, especially when serving dishes like fish thalis. The oversight of such a fundamental aspect of dining etiquette reflects poorly on the restaurant's attention to detail and commitment to customer satisfaction. As for the food itself, it was a major letdown. The chicken biryani, in particular, was nothing short of disappointing. It lacked flavor, freshness, and authenticity, leaving much to be desired. It's disheartening to pay good money for subpar food, especially when expectations are high. In conclusion, I strongly advise against dining at Amrut Restaurant based on my dismal experience. From the unacceptable waiting time and unprofessional staff to the lackluster food quality and overall disappointing atmosphere, there are far better dining options available elsewhere. Save yourself the frustration and look elsewhere for a satisfying culinary experience.

A Memorable Experience at Hotel Amrut, Karwar We had an absolutely wonderful time dining at Hotel Amrut during our visit to Karwar. The ambience was warm and inviting, and the staff were incredibly friendly and attentive, making us feel right at home. The food quality was top-notch, and we especially loved their butter garlic prawns, chicken lollipop, mushroom, and king fish masala—each dish was perfectly cooked and bursting with flavor. A special shoutout to the owner, Mr. Bharath, who truly made our experience exceptional. He immediately figured out that we were visiting Karwar for the first time and went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. Not only did he help us choose the best dishes to try, but he also shared valuable insights about the city, its culture, and must-visit places. Spending time chatting with him was both informative and delightful. We were so impressed that we ended up visiting Hotel Amrut multiple times during our stay. One of the highlights was spending Christmas Eve here, where the restaurant hosted celebrations and distributed gifts, adding a festive touch to our trip. Their attention to detail and commitment to enhancing their customers' experience truly stood out. Wishing Hotel Amrut continued success! If you ever find yourself in Karwar, this place is a must-visit for an amazing dining experience and the warm hospitality that will make your trip even more memorable.

Quite simply one of the best restaurants in Karwar. Whether you like chicken, seafood or vegetarian food you will find something on the menu to suit your taste. The food is definitely spicy but very tasty, some of the items worth trying are: Chicken Kolhapuri: Boneless pieces of chicken in a spicy gravy Chicken 65: One of their signature dishes, is a superb starter with soft, succulent chicken pieces with a spicy coating. Chicken/ Veg Biryani: Both options are well cooked and have a great taste to them. They are served with a gravy/ dal Other items worth trying are their Sea food items, Fish Thali, Veg Kolhapuri, Veg Friend Rice, Chicken 88, Chicken Tikka, Gobi starters and Chicken Tikka Masala. Items that can be skipped: Chicken Pepper Dry: True to its name, the item is a little to dry and tastes like Chicken Pakora with a dash of pepper powder and cut capsicum. This is a far cry from their own Chicken 65 and not as good as the Chicken Pepper Dry/Fry in Andhra hotels. Given this one a miss and stick to their special's. The service can be a little slow at times but that's simply because of the crowd, also come early if you have to dine there as it can get crowded pretty quickly.

Have given high rating to this place earlier and also recommended in my 2 team-bhp posts. Just in 1.5 yrs I have been here for 5-6 times and even take yellapur karwar route for Goa to stop here for both sides. It's a phased manner restaurant development above a liquor shop- they added liquor and food section above first, then a famil AC section above and then an AC section for family on GF now.

Unfortunately, the influx of more tourists has made the service and food quality going down while prices keep going up every visit. Within 1.5 yrs I can see huge deterioration in food and service. Anyways- latest review- orawn butter garlic have goine 1/4th in size, Red Snapper ghee roast lost all awesome taste which was there till an year back (based on last 2 visits and not only latest one), Thali is basic.

Biggest problem is service- Gopi(if I recall correctly the head chef), his attitude has changed for worst in last 3 visits- he pushes for smaller size fishes - take 2 in place of med size, Tries to push for higher priced menu items, We were served plain roti in place of Butter roti- on telling him- he mentioned will bring butter for last 2 rotis- it was denies, but we were billed for butter roti. Despite of giving wrong item he kept pestering for tips for staff - I denied it and he kept asking - 6 times in total. I told him I gave the same staff 200 Rs tip last visit and previous one as well. This time its not worth- He said no- add it. WOW... seems he has been instructed to get that added to Card swiping instead of cash.

Only decent thing is owner Bharat and perosnal touch- he personally meets people- but he needs to manage the game if it is scaling up. I am going to advice people against visiting in my travelogues and...
