Moughal Darbar — Restaurant in Karnataka

After a long and frustrating day at Hebbe Falls, and searching everywhere on the long weekend only to find all restaurants on waiting, Moughal Darbar seemed like our only way out as they promised to seat us within 10 minutes. 10 minutes turned into 30 into 1 hour. Still, we decided to give them a chance. When the table was being prepared for getting served, they provided us with dripping wet plates. When asked to take back, they again returned with the same dripping wet plates - but black in color. The starters were served along with main course and when asked to keep the main course in the kitchen to prevent it getting cold, the waiter literally ignored us and went back. Additionally, all the food was somehow cold when it was supposed to be freshly prepared. The staff was very rude and had a haughty attitude. When confronted them about all these issues, they had nothing to say in response. The food altogether was bland, dull and all the gravies tasted similar - on top of that, the food was not at all worth the price at which they offer. All in all, I would give this place -1 stars if I had the option and i will not just recommend you to not go to this place, but warn you - do not go...

I went to this place given Google reviews and a few websites also mentioned this on must visit restaurant in Chikkamagluru. I hate to break it but this restaurant is not that good. I ordered Shawrma and Tandoori Chicken.

Firstly, the service is above average. They will attend you in sometime and then bring menu and your food in sometime. The guy waiting my table even forgot my drink. I had to tell him again. Coming to drinks. They only have cold drinks and water. Nothing else. Atleast a few options with lime and lemon drinks would have served better.

Then the food. It's not that great. Shawrma was just ok. And I have had much much better Shawrmas in my life. And then Tandoori Chicken. Absolute disaster. Don't get me wrong. If you are hungry it will satisfy your tummy but nothing extraordinary. I have had so tasty tandoori chicken that this one was not even close. The meat is not juicy at all and it felt like they just heated a pre-made plate to me.

All in all I won't recommend this place and I have absolutely no idea who are the people who are rating this so high.

P.S. Prices are not that cheap. It's not high either but as written in a few reviews...

Very bad experience from the first step we entered.We requested for a table in the ground floor and were refused although it was available.The reason being my mom could not climb those steep steps . Kulcha and tandoori was just ok.Butter chiken,I don't know how it can be called that ,was bad .Taste was giving way that it's stale chiken added to the gravy.All of us reached home and the disappointment started .Our stomach started paining because of the stale gravy.All of us were down with stomach problem the following day and regretted our visit here .Please be cautious if you are dining here .Very unhygienic ambience and even the cutlery and glasses are much below any standard.Cheap black plastic glasses are kept to drink water!They should know these are banned.It was quite an experience for me after seeing the wonderful tourists who come to the capital of coffee and this is the service these guys...
