Title: A Beloved Tea Haven with a Touch of Kerala Flavor
I've been a dedicated fan of this place since its inauguration, and it has consistently delivered a delightful experience throughout the years. As avid tea enthusiasts hailing from Kerala, my companions and I find solace in the exquisite blend of amazing tea and coffee alongside authentic Kerala cuisine offered by this charming restaurant.
Having explored numerous tea spots, we can confidently attest that this place stands out for its refreshingly invigorating tea, especially after a tiring day of travel. Over the years, the staff may have changed, but the unwavering commitment to quality has ensured that our tea-drinking experience remains consistently satisfactory.
For two-wheeler enthusiasts, parking options are acceptable, although those with cars might find themselves seeking spaces a bit farther away. While this inconvenience exists, it's the only minor drawback we've encountered in our visits.
The ambiance of this tea haven, coupled with the aroma of Kerala snacks wafting through the air, creates a unique and comforting atmosphere. It's the perfect spot to unwind and indulge in a diverse array of Kerala snacks, elevating the overall experience for tea lovers like us.
In conclusion, this establishment has successfully maintained its reputation as a go-to destination for tea aficionados. Read moreI visited Talassery Restaurant on Velankanni Drive, which is known for serving both Kerala and North Indian cuisine. My overall experience was mixed but worth sharing. The main course food quality is just okay – it’s decent but not something that stands out strongly when compared with other restaurants in the area. If you are expecting authentic Kerala meals or perfectly prepared North Indian curries, you might find the taste to be average.
However, what really makes this place special is their evening tea and snacks. This is where the restaurant shines. They offer an impressive variety of more than 20 different snacks in the evening, ranging from traditional Kerala options to some quick bites that go really well with tea. The snacks are fresh, flavorful, and give you the real taste of a Kerala-style tea shop experience.
The tea itself is authentic, rich in flavor, and pairs perfectly with the snacks. This unique offering creates a very homely, nostalgic atmosphere for anyone who enjoys South Indian evening tea culture.
So, while the main meals may not be extraordinary, I would still recommend this place for its evening tea and snacks spread – truly the highlight of...

Thalassery Restaurant in Velankani Drive is sadly surviving only because of its monopoly in the area – being the only food spot nearby, they’ve taken advantage of customers with high prices and poor service.
₹180 for a biriyani that barely fills half a plate? Absolutely not worth it. Quantity is too little for the price, and quality doesn’t justify it either. On top of that, I ordered a single meal to share, which we normally do – and one staff member politely agreed, saying it’s fine. But suddenly another came over, spoke rudely, and insisted meals cannot be shared. Honestly, this is the first time I’ve ever heard such a rule in any restaurant.
To make it worse, the place was overcrowded, and despite that, the staff shows no respect or courtesy. It’s shocking that people still choose to eat here – likely due to the lack of other options nearby.
If you value service, quantity, and your money, I’d suggest skipping this place entirely. Not...
