When my friend was visiting me from Sweden I was wondering where to take him for lunch. I was leaning towards Sharada International that is just across the road because I had had lunch there just two days back. Many families including mine suggested to try Manipal Inn. I did partially because my expectation from a hotel named on the city I was born in seemed enticing. We went in at around 2.30 n were greeted pleasantly at the door. We sat down and ordered fr drinks. We knew the kitchen would close soon so ordered the starters and main course all at once. But what was surprising is as soon as the food came in they rushed us to eat. At one point they expected us to have both the main courses at once. I requested the waiter to not serve and we would do it ourselves. So the manager came in and served food on the plate rudely.. i was very surprised because I had heard highly of them. I also wondered if they assumed we were students and hence the difference in hospitality. The icing on the cake was when they turned off all the lights except for the one above our head as soon as a group of ladies at the other table left. I wouldn’t be this disheartened but this is what my friend will remember about Udupi. If this is about the kitchen closing at 3, we should have been stopped from entering the restaurant instead of assuming we can order, eat and leave in half an hour. We...
Read moreFine dine with out any fine dining qualities. Well dressed people with zero Hotel management skills. The waiting attendant was terrible, he lacked knowledge in the dishes. Was probably not even trained, extremely forgetful. The food is expensive but not worthy of the price by far. We had ordered starters and then the main course. When we got to the place there were hardly any patrons (approx timing 1.08pm). When we placed the order there were hardly any other customers. We had ordered a basic aloo paratha; specifically telling the staff that the paratha has to be without any spices and chillies because it was ordered for a 2 year old. It took them over 40 minutes to get it and that too they got it wrong. It was full of chillies. The rest of the main course never even made it to us. After waiting for a long time we had to leave the place at around 3pm as we still had no food and my diabetic father and old mother were in dire need to eat something. Usually I do not give harsh reviews in the first go. I believe one should always give a fair chance. But this place has been running on fumes and are very short staffed for quite some time. It is not a place that deserves a second chance they have all the means to recruit and it's a fine dine for god's sake. The chalta hai attitude in India should stop and business can not take the Indian consumer...
Read moreWe ordered tawa pomfret and cost of each pomfret was 850 which was the smallest size. We expected some quality food but it turned out to be half cooked pomfret. We ordered 3 pomfrets but all of them were in same state. The chutney which was served was not properly mixed meaning ginger was in raw form. We complained the same to waiter and manager but they offered only 706 discount. We had 2 concerns.
If you are charging pomfret double than the other restaurants near by customer would expect al least good quality. By offering 700 discount after such long discussions, whom are you fooling. That is even less than the price of one pomfret though 3 of the pomfrets were half cooked. Chef also gave some bogus excuse that tawa fry pomfret will always have less masala and front side will be more cooked always🫡
Will never recommend to anyone....
