BLND Restobar — Restaurant in Kerala

In June 2022, I wrote.... "Essentially a nice place with massive potential. However, they get their basics a little off the mark. There's folks waiting at the door in a confused state. They don't say a word or guide you to a seat. They have a waiting area, bang opposite a smoking area. Outright disgusting if you go with a family. But wait, is that the audience they care about? Not so simple. Then there's the service. There are a prominent few that you see on most days that don't even make eye contact, forget about any smiles. You don't always feel welcome. But its more than made up by a couple of ppl who serve and interact with a smile. The menu is another sore point. Most of it, is a one time try. They try so hard to stand out, that 90% of it is not outstanding. I wonder if they listen to customers feedback when its not positive. Nothings changed since the many times i have been there since April. That brings me to the music. Unnecessarily loud. This is mostly an identity crisis. Is it a plane, a pub or a restaurant? Its .....well...it could be better at everything it does."

UPDATE- Jan 2023, Visited the place several times since December 2022 with family and friends after a gap. I have been pleasantly surprised at how everything had improved considerably, especially the menu! It now has many more approachable items, that one can easily plan to rotate and indulge over repeated visits. And the food tastes great! That alone made each visit worthwhile! And the beer remains as chilled as ever!

Another welcome change has been the friendlier audible levels of the music they play. My better half agrees to. Then again, she has always been a little deafer than me! :-)

Service too has gone up several notches. Its always nice when they smile and interact in a hospitable way. Promptness and courtesy meet you every step of the way. My kid broke a glass accidentally, and they just cleared it up as fast as lightning and disappeared from sight..no fuss! Impressive!

So clearly, things are looking up for this place. And maybe the best is yet to come as they evolve. Something to look forward to...

BLND... For a place at Trivandrum, it is a blend of what modern joints are not... and I mean it in a good way...

Its got the Base of a resto bar, the Likes of a family joint, the Nibbles of a pub and Domain of its own here in Trivandrum.

Sitting around a small table chatting around sipping on some good beer and bites may be good. Having a large group will test your sound box though as the music gets loud....

Ofcourse, it is a good place to hang out enjoying some of the good beers available in our limited market, and awesome bites to back it up... expect pub rates, though it may not be one. The wines on offer are excellent as well.

Highlight has to be the well crafted bites that comes in various genre right from their Quilon Beef (Nadan Beef on a Bruschetta), to their Lava Cheese balls to their Crispy Noodle Fried Mushrooms...

Visit during Karoke at your own risk though, as sometimes you may be presented with a single style group attempting different genes...

If once in a while you get the feeling to try something different for a hangout (not that there are that many options), BLND is deffinitely the place to go...

The staffs, both on the floor and behind the scenes are so friendly and yet give you the space you need, something not seen often here in Trivandrum.

Wish they had Drought or Brewed variety that would have elevated the gulping aspect on offer...

Will I or we, be there again... On Occassions or when the mood is right a definite YES ! ! !
