I visited Halais Dum Biryani in Trivandrum, and I must say, it was an exceptional dining experience. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with warm hospitality and a cozy ambiance. The restaurant's interior was tastefully decorated, creating a comfortable and inviting atmosphere. The staff was attentive and friendly, ensuring that all my needs were met throughout my visit. They were also knowledgeable about the menu and provided excellent recommendations. Now, let's talk about the star of the show - the biryani. Halais Dum Biryani truly lives up to its reputation as one of the best biryani places in Trivandrum. The aroma of the spices filled the air as the biryani was brought to my table. The presentation was impeccable, with each grain of rice perfectly cooked and the meat tender and flavorful. The biryani had the perfect balance of spices, with each bite bursting with a harmonious blend of flavors. The meat was cooked to perfection, melting in my mouth with every bite. The portion size was generous, ensuring that I left the restaurant feeling satisfied and content. In addition to the biryani, I also tried some of their other dishes, such as the chicken tikka and the butter naan. Both were equally delicious and complemented the biryani perfectly. The flavors were authentic and reminded me of the rich and diverse cuisine of India. Overall, my visit to Halais Dum Biryani was a delightful experience. The food was exceptional, the service was top-notch, and the ambiance was inviting. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for an authentic and memorable biryani experience in Trivandrum.

I have visited Halais multiple times, and it has consistently been a great experience. The restaurant is spacious enough to comfortably accommodate at least 50 people, making it ideal for both family gatherings and outings with friends. Whether it's a casual lunch or a special occasion, the ambiance is welcoming, and the layout ensures you never feel cramped. Taste-wise, the food is consistently good, with a wide variety of dishes to suit all preferences. The quality of ingredients is evident, and I appreciate that they maintain high standards across their menu. Despite the quality, the prices are very affordable, making it great value for money. One feature that stands out is the small play area provided for kids. It's a thoughtful addition that makes dining here with family, especially with young children, much more enjoyable. Parents can relax and enjoy their meal while the kids are entertained. Overall, Halais is a wonderful choice for anyone looking for a comfortable, reasonably priced dining experience with good food and a family-friendly atmosphere. I highly recommend it and will definitely continue to visit.

Walking to the restaurant I liked the place with neat arrangements, waiting area kids play area, long tables ideal for team dinner. But turned out that I hated everything after being seated. Long delay in taking order, had to repeat order multiple times, lousy service. I believe they are more looking for team dinner and get-together given their proximity to Infosys and UST and might be the reason for negligence towards the small tables. Food was also not good and enjoyable. Ordered biriyani for 2, chicken and mutton, rice was well cooked, mutton/chicken was also well cooked, however masalas were out of place and tasted very balnt and lifeless. Haven't even got the salt correct. Worst halais biriyani ever tasted(first time to this shop though, visited other 3 earlier). Summary: Food : bad Ambiance/facilities: Good Cleaniness: Good Service: Pathetic Parking: yes Location: near to highway and opposite to കുന്നിൽ supermarket/ Infosys

Total Disappointment. Wouldn't Recommend

First, I had to wait quite a while just to get a table. Once seated, I asked the waiter if chicken biryani was available. He told me, "Yes sir, only chicken biryani is available right now. No beef or mutton." So I placed an order for one chicken biryani.

After a few more minutes, a second waiter came and asked if I had ordered. I told him yes, I had ordered a chicken biryani and also requested a quarter piece of alfaham. He acknowledged it and left.

Later, he came back and asked, "Sir, you ordered chicken biryani — do you remember which waiter you told that to?" I replied that I had informed someone earlier but couldn’t spot him anymore. He said, "Okay sir, no problem."

Then a third guy came and told me that chicken biryani wasn’t available, only beef biryani was. I was confused because the first waiter had said only chicken biryani was available. But I agreed anyway and changed my order to beef biryani.

When the food finally arrived, the alfaham was just okay. I had ordered a normal quarter alfaham, but they served something sweet, possibly honey chilli, which I hadn’t asked for. That was unexpected and not in a good way.

As for the biryani, honestly, it was terrible. It was just plain rice without any flavor, and they had tossed in some beef fry pieces and called it beef biryani. It tasted bland and felt like a complete rip-off.

The only thing remotely decent was the lime juice.

Overall: Poor service and miscommunication among staff Misleading information about food availability Completely flavorless biryani Wrong alfaham served Waste of time and money

Would never recommend this place....

Our recent visit to Halais Dum Biryani turned into a delightful culinary experience with a range of flavorful dishes that left a lasting impression. Here's our take on what we tried:

Chicken Biriyani: A fragrant and well-spiced classic, served with tender chicken pieces that melted in the mouth. The rice was perfectly cooked and packed with flavor, making it a must-try for biryani lovers.

Turkish Peri Peri Chicken: This dish brought a delightful burst of bold flavors with a balance of tangy and spicy notes. The chicken was grilled to perfection, juicy on the inside, and crispy outside — a true standout.

Chicken Kothu Parotta: Comfort food at its finest! The shredded parotta blended beautifully with chicken and spices, creating a hearty dish bursting with flavor and texture.

Paneer Tikka: The paneer was soft and well-marinated, carrying a subtle smokiness from the grill. A treat for vegetarians or anyone craving something light yet flavorful.

Falooda: A refreshing and indulgent dessert drink, perfectly layered with vermicelli, jelly, nuts, and ice cream. It offered just the right level of sweetness and was a great way to end the meal.

Lime Juice: Simple yet refreshing, it was the ideal palate cleanser after the rich and flavorful dishes.

Overall, Halais Dum Biryani Restaurant delivered a satisfying experience with well-crafted dishes that catered to...
