Ettukettu located in Kumarakom Lake Resort, went for lunch at this restaurant during my visit in Kumarakom on a Sunday, our hotel person recommended the same. We got a table at the restaurant and opted for a lunch buffet.
Ambiance: The resort is huge, and the restaurant is located near the reception. The place is surrounded by garden and even have water running from between the restaurant in an artificial canal though the water I wish could be clean.
Service: The staff is polite and professional, they even made dal rice without any chilis as it was required for the child.
Drinks: We ordered beer which was served chilled so no complaints from my side.
Food: We had the buffet lunch; the spread was good. For starters they had prawns and samosas, they had multiple salads & Soups. For the main course we had choice of fish curry, mutton, and veg. along with breads to order. They even had Chinese option and the chicken in the same selection was very good. The best was the dessert section they had lot of options for the same including ice cream, Indian sweets, Cakes and puddings.
Cost: Cost for our meal along with 2 beer was around 4000 INR which was not too expensive compared to the ambiance and food. Buffet cost for one is 1500 INR.
Overall a good property and one can give it a try if you...
Read moreJust had a lunch for 4 at the Ettukettu multi-cuisine restaurant at the Kumarakom Lake Resort. We were not staying at the property. Our order- the Karimeen Pollichathu (a couple), 4 Kerala porottas, a beef ullarthiyathu, the chicken palpizhinja curry, a Lahori murgh, a veg pulao, a paneer tikka and a couple of payasams for dessert. The food and service were excellent. Special standouts were the porotta, the Lahori murgh and Karimeen. My only complaint is that local classics ie- Karimeen Pollichathu and Duck Roast or Mappas is not on the menu! I do not understand why these delicacies are missing on the menu. Our total bill for 4 was about Rs. 8500/- Highly...
Read moreThis place is quite an experience. Exquisite one at that. Good food is just a good bonus. The ambience will amaze you. You would know if you've stayed here. If you are not a guest at the resort, planning a special trip for lunch would be absolutely worth it (as against dinner, only because you would need broad daylight to be able to enjoy the scenic beauty of backwaters, the landscaping of resort, houseboat rides and experience that even can't be described). If you've got kids, there are rabbits dotting the resort. Deserves... Five star, rather the whole...
