I had been planning to visit Ma Cafe for long after seeing so many positive reviews. Finally this evening, I made it with my family. The experience was however very disappointing.
Positives:- Retro outdoor ambience & music Very polite & friendly staff Very youthful costumers
Negatives:- The food is tasteless & bland. The cutlery is the tiniest. Humid exteriors.
We had 'Arattu Burger', 'Churulans bro', 'Chicken falafal churulan', 'French fries', 'Lime tea' & 'Coffee'.
The Arattu burger was big enough but distasteful. The half cooked omlet sandwiched inside made it further worse. Even my daughter who normally likes every junk like burger, pasta, rolls etc struggled to eat the burger.
The Churulans bro (is a wrap) apart from being tasteless and 75% stuffed with cabbage and onions (curiously cut in big flakes) was filled lavishly with hot green chillies. Due to this, every bite felt like a scary task, first to remove the 2-3 cm big chillies, then to eat. The hotness of the chilli and overstuffed cabbage strips made this the most tasteless wrap i ever had.
The Falafal churulan was almost tasteless as the Churulan bro sans the chilli.
Lime tea - I can't believe my bad luck as this was the most epic disappointment because of its bitterness as a result of unpeeled lemon dipped in.
Coffee - Pretty okayish. Potato finger fries - Was the only relief among all we tasted. Apart from being served seperately, fries are additionally served with all other stuff.
Finally, a small mention on the size of the cutlery which the food is served in. The plates are micro sized just enough to fit the menu item ordered, this in turn makes the table instantly dirty and unpleasant. Very strange choice of cutlery.
Footnote:- I saw lots of young guys visiting the place in groups while we were there, which implies that my tastebuds may not be suited to the menu here. The food did not impress me, may be due to my over expectations after seeing too many good reviews. Hence, my views are personal. Overall, it was a forgetfully...

Read moreWell, I called ahead to ask if there was indoor seating coz it seemed pretty warm outdoors even though their exterior setting looked quite attractive. We were 3 adults, a teenager and a 12 year old. A polite young lady showed us a room indoor which was messy with used up paper napkin on the floor and some very low cushion stools which were damn uncomfortable. Asked for the AC to be switched on please- Sorry not working. We decided to shift next door where a long bench like table and 5 taller stools felt better. Ordered beverages for all 5 of us and some snacks..not bad. Overpriced..yes. I did cross check if our beverage order was clear and received a nod- I had to have masala tea sent back to be replaced by my actual order masala coffee. The fan in the room did not have a cover. Overall, service just about ok and personnel friendly. Indoor ambience and...
