I visited this restaurant with my 2 brother in laws yesterday. The manager came to us to take order and I asked him for the menu. He told there are no menu, but he will tell and he is itself the menu for that restaurent. Finally we ordered one Prawns biriyani, 1 chilly beef, 1 chicken 65, 4 wheat porottas, 1 grape juice and 2 mango juice. We were expecting so decent food atleast but came to be a big disappointment. The beef chilly looked like rubber pieces filled with some spicy gravy and was very bad to taste. The chicken 65 was over cooked and fried and was diagusting too. It felt that the wheat porotta was old and brought after heating in the oven. It also tasted bad and felt like pappadam at some point. The prawns biriyani was some what OK, but had nothing special to remember of. The bigger let down was the juice. Initially they brought 1 grape juice and 1 mango juice. Surprisingly the mango juice did not taste like mango juice but instead a mussambi juice without sugar and lot of water. After few minutes the other mango juice came and that was much better and really looked like mango juice itself. I told the person who served the juice that, I did not receive the mango juice but instead some bad tasting water filled with some moussambi pulp. He argued that the two mango juices were prepared together and tastes the same. We all got surprised by that reaction as simply looking at it would be clear that both are two different juices itself. The so called mango juice had thick layer of foam, which was not present with the original mango juice. It was clear that it is a moussambi juice (a really bad one). He then told he cannot taste it as he is on fasting, so he brought some other guy who then put a different argument that the mango used for my juice is not ripe and that is the reason for the bas taste. I realized that, there is no point arguing with them and that they are never gonna accept it and replace with original mango juice. So I told them to leave the matter and I simply wasted the entire juice and it was disgusting and had very bad taste. We then received a bill of 922 rupees, just for the stale food that we had after having very big expectations. The manager was shouting at the service guys and the cooks, and we felt that that might be the reason why they have not accepted their mistakes. Altogether it was a horrible and disappointing experience with Malabar village. I would never suggest this place to my friends and family again and would never visit there again. Those who still want to visit there should really take care that they receive atleast some decent standard food.
PS: We had to buy parcel for my family and we bought it from the other Malabar village at Muvattupuzha road, and surprisingly the chicken biriyanis tasted good. This restaurant seemed to have pretty good and better options as well. So I think it is the outlet next to the Bhima, the worst and should be avoided...
Read moreWrost food.....I have an excellent relation with Malabar since they opened the 1st store thodupuzha to till ,but the last few years onwards the management focussing only for open new stores, they are failing to maintain the quality of the food ,several times directly informed the management, they are always accept it but again never done anything.as compared with others I personally experience the same food quality difference with other competitors,in a month me and wife spending around 3k to 4 k on the various outlets of Malabar, but unfortunately we decided to quit the relationship with them only because of the quality of foods.
As a customer I ordered chicken sixty five ,porotta ,butter chicken ,alpham.....all are utterly waste....they are making all the recipe with the waste part of the chicken after taking alpham and others....
Today also I tried my last visit it's my horrible experience....
Look @ the bill a small portion of chicken 65 they are charging 220 plus tax ...if any one having the same in maximum it may 180 in thodupuzha and Idukki and ernakulam district...
The management should seriously study why the sale day by day decrease and why people's waiting for new restaurants....I am sure the owner of the shops facing 40 to 50 percent decreased sale and regular customer footwall
Me and my family never choose.....good bye
Just go through the below bills to find...
Read moreDear Management Team,
I am writing to express my disappointment with the service we received during our recent visit to Malabar Village restaurant in Thodupuzha. Our experience was marred by several significant issues that greatly impacted our dining experience.
Firstly, there was a power outage at the restaurant, which led to a lack of cooling and comfort for the guests. This not only made the atmosphere uncomfortable but also resulted in extended wait times for our orders.
Speaking of wait times, we were incredibly disappointed with the delays in receiving our orders. We waited for hours to get our meals, and to make matters worse, we had to wait for an additional hour just to receive a simple juice order. Such prolonged waiting periods are unacceptable, especially in a dining establishment.
The combination of power outage, lack of cooling, and prolonged wait times significantly detracted from what could have been an enjoyable dining experience. As regular customers, we were deeply disappointed by these issues.
We hope that you will take our feedback seriously and take necessary steps to improve the service and infrastructure at your restaurant. Customers should be able to dine comfortably and enjoy timely service, which was unfortunately lacking during our visit.
Thank you for your attention to this matter. We look forward to seeing improvements...
