Niravu Dine-Inn — Restaurant in Kerala

This is a newly opened kerala restaurant that is gaining customers due to some paid Facebook reviewers. We had their signature Special seafood meals, Fish curry meals, Palkappa with fish curry, porotta, and chicken fried rice with butter chicken.

Palkappa with fish curry: Rs 280

Had the consistency of watery stew and tasted worse than normal kappa. The accompanying fish curry had a single piece of fish in it.

"Special" sea food meal: Rs 380

Varying sadhya items with a seafood twist added. Like squid thoran and fish pickle. There were two very small pieces of fried fish and two fish curries(1 piece each) in those small steel containers that are normally used to serve sambar and chutney in veg restaurants. All in all, there was may be 50gm of seafood in the whole Sadhya. I asked a second serving of the squid thoran, to which they replied that there are no second servings for the special sadhya.

Fish curry meals:

It was ok. Nothing special, had the same fish curry as the Palkappa.

Porotta: Tasty and flaky

Egg Fried rice: Fried rice was good

Butter chicken: Very well done. Rich and savoury.

Summary: Food: Stay away from their signature Seafood special meals. It is a total ripoff. Fish curries that were served together with the meals were sub par. Porotta, fried rice and butter chicken were good.

Service: Staff were inexperienced and it shows. I hope they get better as...

We recently dined here and had a pleasant experience overall. We tried the Palkappa, which was quite good, and the Beef Cheeiya Ulli Roast turned out to be the star of the meal – absolutely superb in flavour and spice!

The Seafood Meals and Chicken Curry were average – decent but nothing extraordinary. The staff were friendly and attentive, which added to the positive experience. The ambience was okay, nothing fancy, but comfortable enough for a casual meal.

This is a newly opened restaurant.. I dont know how so many old bad reviews have been posted here.. but the restaurant was opened just a month back. I am a regular visitor here. Food is excellent, tastes great and has a homely touch to it. I would recommend the beef cherolli roast, paal kappa combos, chicken steak and fish curry meals.. the food is top-notch.
