We visited Shappu Curry & Seafood in Cherai around 2 PM as a group of four, and the experience truly exceeded our expectations. From the moment we arrived, everything went smoothly — there was no waiting time, which was great considering how popular the place seems to be.

We tried a wide range of their dishes — from traditional Kerala seafood curries to fried items — and every single one stood out for its freshness and authentic flavor. The taste was consistently great across the board, and it was clear that the ingredients were fresh and well-prepared. Their use of spices was balanced perfectly — not overpowering, just enough to enhance the natural taste of the seafood.

The staff were extremely polite, welcoming, and helpful, explaining the menu and making sure we had everything we needed without being intrusive. It really added to the comfort of the experience.

Another big plus was the ambience and the view. The restaurant is located in a calm and scenic spot, and the surroundings add a peaceful, coastal vibe that complements the meal beautifully. You get to enjoy not just good food but also a relaxed and refreshing environment.

It was kinda good.. We bought meals at noon.. Curries were very less.. 2 meals.. and one bottle mineral water(No other water available).. was 160 total.. but the curries for meals.. was very less in terms of number and quantity ,,considering the price.. But although after starting to eat... The guy there offered fish curry gravy.. so tht was nice.. And the vibe over there is pretty good if you don't mind spending for expensive food... Anyways.. overall I'll rate it 3.5 to...

Kallu Shapu (Toddy Shop) with beach view, I have been here multiple times always it’s been a good experience on a weekend with wide range for food variety unfortunately on a week lady they prepare very less items and the quality of preparation is also not as you get it on weekend. I expected it to be other way round as it is a non rush hour. Visit between 4-6 and you will enjoy the sunset, toddy and food till 8 PM. Can visit with family ...
