The food here is finger licking good. Feasted like royalty on kappa, king fish, mussels and shrimp. Incidentally the Kappa (tapioca) melts in the mouth.

We went to Thampuran Hotel on a Sunday afternoon. It is on the main road, and chances of missing it is minimal. There isn't any parking, so that is something you need to look for.

The food is nice, nothing above that. At the same time there is nothing to complain about. You get rice with basic side dishes and tapioca. They ask you what fish fries you need, and is served accordingly. We had taken fried anchovies, prawns and another fish fry. The anchovies needed to be fried a little more that would have enhanced it. The prawns fries were okay and so was the last fish fry.

Visited this restaurant, which is quite famous for its fish dishes, during lunchtime. They serve meals on a vazhayila, which adds a nice traditional touch. Being a vegetarian, my options were limited, but the curries and accompaniments I had were quite good. They also serve kappa along with the meals, and there’s kanjivellam (that we rarely find on restaurants) available on the table. My friends tried the fish dishes and mentioned they were fresh and flavorful.
