⭐️⭐️ 2/5 – Great food and ambience, but disappointing service
I’ve visited Zafran twice once with my family and again recently with friends and both times, the food and ambience were genuinely good. The place has a nice vibe, and the dishes we ordered were delicious.
But sadly, the service really let us down. The staff seemed disinterested and carried an unwelcoming attitude. We were barely attended to, and no one served water until we had almost finished eating ,this attitude happened on both visits.
During the second visit, we placed our main order and later added a parcel order for a friend. When the bill arrived, both dine-in and parcel were combined. When we politely asked to split the bill, the staff flatly refused and said it’s “already made” but the way they spoke was rude and dismissive, which was really disappointing.
Mistakes and limitations are understandable, but how you treat your customers matters. A bit of respect and clear communication would’ve made a huge difference.
Zafran, you’ve got the food and ambience right , but unless the service improves, I personally wouldn’t recommend the place. I hope the management takes this feedback seriously and trains the staff...
Read moreI had a very disappointing experience during my recent visit. The food was served cold – the kebabs and noodles felt like they had just been taken out of the refrigerator and simply reheated in an oven. This is completely unacceptable for any restaurant claiming to serve fresh food.
We raised our concerns politely, but the staff were dismissive and unwilling to listen to our feedback. Only after some time did they offer an apology, citing that they were unable to manage due to a heavy crowd.
Honestly, if a restaurant can't handle high volume or maintain basic food quality and service during busy times, it raises the question – why operate at all?
I hope the management takes this seriously and improves both their food preparation and customer service. This kind of experience leaves a bad taste, and not just in terms...
Read moreVisited this restaurant recently and overall, it was an average experience. I ordered Chicken Biryani and Beef Biryani—both had good flavor, and the taste was satisfying. However, the beef biryani had mostly fatty pieces, which was a bit disappointing.
One major issue was the air conditioning. Even though the restaurant is inside an air-conditioned mall and also has its own AC units, the cooling was very poor. We were sweating throughout the meal, which really affected the dining comfort.
Also, I was surprised to find there were no toilets inside the restaurant. I had to use the mall’s toilet nearby, which was in a very unhygienic and pathetic condition.
Despite these issues, I'm happy to see such a restaurant opening in Payyanur, and I hope they improve these aspects...
