Sri lakshmi restaurant pure veg — Restaurant in Kodaikanal

We were absolutely starving and looking for a vegetarian dinner, so we searched for well-rated places on Google. That’s how we came across this restaurant. We travelled all the way from Paraipatty Vilpatty and spent around ₹500 on food here.

Unfortunately, the entire meal ended up in the bin — even our driver, who is a local, threw his away. Worse, he fell ill with suspected food poisoning the very next day.

When I questioned the man and woman running the place (who I believe are the owners), they openly admitted that most of the reviews were written by their grandchildren and relatives. So that explains the misleading ratings — it all came straight from their own mouths.

If you truly want to attract customers, focus on serving quality food and offering good service — not by posting fake reviews. It’s disappointing and dishonest. Shame on those who mislead others by writing...

It's a very small place with only 2 tables. There was only one lady serving. She kept the sambar vessel on the table but would keep the chutney vessel with herself. She would pour a small ladle of chutney and then take it away. Very shrewed. We were 3 people and ordered idly, vade and a couple dose.
